OK I am totally confused now. My plants have a nute lockout and I think it is a PH problem.

I am using Foxfarm Ocean Forest for soil.

The PH of my RO water is 6.5.

I checked the runof on my plants and 1) is 6.3 2) is 6.5 3) is 7.0

These were all tested with a Hanna PH pen that I calibrated before taking measurements.

I have not fertilized yet . The FFOF is supposed to have everything needed for up to 2 months.

The variety is Morning Star.

Right now they are in 1 gallon pots and the 2 smallest ones were transplanted 3 days ago.

The plants are all very light green ( N def. I think?) and the leaves are culing under with necrosis starting on the lower leaves.

Help!!!

I'd top dress each pot with a handful or two of compost with a little dried & aged manure and water that in to get some nutrients to your plants and at the same time soak 3 or 4 different sources of organic ferts in a stocking in an open container to make your own soluble organic ferts!

If the ph is correct then perhaps the problem of yellowed slow growth is there because you over water the pots and leach away all the nutrients?....if so try to water in a little bit at the time and stop before the first few dribbles appear coming out of the bottom of the pot so not to wash away the goodness

you can water excessively with lots of run-off, so long as you use a light strength fert mix each time...but in most cases it's better to water soil pots just enough so only a few dribbles come out.

yup i agree with kifit they need food not to mention that big plant in the first one could use a bigger pot


fox farm is good soil but only lasts for around 3 weeks before needing feeding
FF is also a good soil for ph buffering its already buffered and i have never really seen any ph issues a rise with that soil before unless the person added something into the mixture

from far away looking at the leaves it looks like a calcium deficiency or a potassium deficiency

can you take a picture of the leaves that are having the problems?

Thanks for all the advice guys . This is my first real run at doing all organic and I have never really tried it before. I guess I am just being a little too cautious with the feeding.

I never over water . I have a moisture meter and always wait until they are dry before watering again. When I water I never have any runoff out of the bottom. I don't want to flush my nutes out ( I learned that a while back).

Like I said before my smaller plants were transplanted a few days ago, so should I give them Nutes? and if I transplant the big one today should I give her nutes also?

Sorry don't want to sound like a Noob , but I guess I am with the organics.

OK I took your advice and I gave them a half strength feeding of FF Grow big.

I balanced the PH to 6.8.

The big one I transplanted and gave her a half strength feeding too.

I hope this is my prob?

i like a ph of 6-6.2 personally.... it give you a little more room in case of a ph fluctuation!

Thanks for all the advice . After transplanting the big one and giving them all a half strength feeding of FF growbig they came around this weekend. They all turned dark green and have started to show a lot of new growth.

My computer has been down since friday so I will post new pics tomorrow.

I guess I was a little too conservative on feeding with FFOF because of a thread I posted about it and everyone was telling me that it didn't need any nutes for the first 2-3 months. I should have listened to myself , but the whnew to me. Now I know after a week and a half or two it is time to feed.
