Hello All!

I've noticed a new user from OG who has an offensive (in my opinion) sexist screen name. His avatar would normally not offend me, I don't mind mostlynaked sexy women - they're beautiful to look at - but paired with the screen name it's offensive to me.

It reminded me of an avatar this guy used to have (maybe still does) over on cannabis culture - it was an animated gif of a stick figure male fucking a female doggystyle until her head broke through the wall, then he jacks off on her face. Some freak took a bunch of time to make it too. I couldn't help but notice that the "artist" made the dick as long as the arm ... wishful thinking I guess. I just left the board instead of complaining. Marc didn't seem like the kind of guy who would respond compassionately to that kind of complaint. There were other places, like here, where the posters seemed more mature.

How do you feel about these things? Do you say anything? Do you think it's fair or right to complain to the mods about it, or is it better to ignore it? Is it best to just leave the board? Do you say why you left or not? Do these things bother you too or should I call my therapist?

I'm thinking that, while this is clearly not a place for children, that people should have basic respect for each other. No one would be permitted to have an avatar that demeaned black people, or Swiss people, or blind people. Why should we tolerate an avatar that's degrading to our gender?

On the other hand, it's awfully difficult at times to agree on what's demeaning and who's being hypersensitive. In light of the current Islamic freak out it's an interesting question to ponder.

Goddess.... I understand where you are coming from on this issue quite well... I am remined of the wigger thread, if that was offensive or not... Well truth be told its not offensice to me but it is offensive to a minority, so to me it matters... I seen somewhere else where someone was refering to women as ho's, am I offended by this?.... yes.... you see half nude women on ad's am I offended by that, No... I think each situation is different in it's own and we just can't have a general statement no tolerence because as you said, this is an over 18 website and some things are just going to be offensive to some... However, If you feel very strongly about it you are a member of a website, you do have the right to contact admin or a mod to report this, because maybe you are not the only one that feels this way.... It is then up to Admin or Mods to determine where that line is in each situation and if it warrants any action at all.... I believe everyone absolutly has right to voice their opinion as long as it doesn't violate other people's rights.... just my

well nahmean, i guess those are poor kids. OF COURSE they freak totaly out, when they get access to pics of ganja/nudes/violence and nobody identify them as lil boys.

so no thing on me to tolerate it. sometimes it worries me a lil.

i dissolve in pity, thinking of some guys callin girls sluts on internet, while dying of lonelyness. we are all looking for love. it's hard for those who can't get.


PLUS they are covered by the animity of internet. some of those won't even be able to look straight into ur eyes in rl.

You have to be 18 to watch an R rated movie, and many times you see things you don't like in that movie. You have to be 18 to be here. There's a reason for that.Words, images, drawings, they're all part of life. Each person has a different reaction to each scenario. The only ones who would write letters and complain to the movie director are very conservative people who want censorship, and end up with nothing other than stress and hate. Many of us live in a country we are proud of for being "Land of the Free."
Please, smoke a bowl, and let people be. If you don't like it, like guy said above, judge the person for their avatar/signature, and pity the fool.
If you are that repulsed, go to the ignore function,and ignore them, or hide-avatar function on the site.

Rude and crude (disrespectful) people generally don't last long around here, I've observed. They also get negative rep points right quick.
I see a couple of the young newbs just got some clothes on their "gals" after they were called on it by offended members.

I have not seen any sexist or otherwise ofensive user names, but understand exactly how you feel. and thats exactly why I also started a thread on rude and offensive avatars.- It says something about the poster if they are willing to show and call themselves such names.

We are members here and if something really bothers us then we can voice our opinion.

Its very true though, rude and offensive people really do not last long here. As I noticed that the few people who had really offensive avatars have dissapeared. So its not just me that is being offended.

Cowabudza it's not conservative to stand up for women, though I do admire that American conservatives are working against child prostitution tourism and the sex slave trade. Good for them for doing something that will actually help someone for once.

I think it's quite the opposite - Liberal people are usually concerned with people's rights. They are the ones who fought for the ERA while conservatives argued against it. They are the ones who fought for abortion rights. They are the ones that fought for our right to vote (which happened only 86 years ago, btw).

Also coming to this board is quite different than seeing an "R" rated movie. An "R" rated movie, by definition contains sex and/or violence. You know exactly what you're signing up for.

I assume, as most visitors do I think, that the reason it's 18 and over to sign up to post here is because we are dealing with a plant that is better kept out of the hands of those who are too young.

I actually can't think of the last time a movie offended me. Oh wait, now I remember. About 17 years ago I saw "Pink Flamingos" which features Divine eating shit out of a dog's ass. It's the only film I ever had the desire to burn - I have never seen anything so disgusting before or since. Of course that opinion would make John Waters grin his head off because that was his intention. And I can accept that offense is, at times, an art form.

The "Land of the Free" does not allow child pornography or rape-themed magazines. You can't scream "fire" in a crowded theater. There are limits even in the USA. Are there any limits here on this board and what are they? If someone wants to put up a Klan or Nazi avatar is that also going to go without comment from members who share your opinion?
