I enjoy reading intelligent and civil discourse like this. Both of you guys are hugely influential in your own way,and represent very different ways of thinking about growing,to me atleast. It's cool to see people leaving their egos out of stuff like this. Too rare around here, which is funny because we're all united by a common love....I'll never figure humans out...

well, thinking about it more.. it's very simple
clear head, or whatever head aside.. color represents "heirloom-ness", as for color stem = what type of head, that's up to you to interpret as I'm not here for that, nor do I think I could say right now.. but being as I've never seen these land-race strains, or how they grow in environments, I would sure love to see some of DJ's first plants ever grown out! to me, color means I am one step behind the green work that can / could follow.... now, I don't want to jack MR.A's thread, but what about under-color leaf since we are talking about stem color, do they share any similar things to talk about? |

"Idea and Garden" SUBSCRIPTIONS....
Alright, just a quick explanation of why I made this thread,
I have my own red stem project in the works as we speak. -Once you make the bed, you have to sleep in it yourself first to try it out, otherwise you can't really get inside the head of someone who is trying to get the most out of their activity of importance,... ie sleeping, or heirloom pheno finding. I first pointed to the probable virtues of the sifting for phenos by stem color when I was looking for the Blueberry Sativa 4 yrs ago....I grew out 140 seeds to a couple weeks old, then tossed out all the green and red stems....I found 2 females that I was happy with. Then I grew the Oregon Purple Thai cut, which had cherry red stems....and I began questioning if we could find red mexican phenos by laying DJ strain names aside, and just staring at what sprouts. So, I grew the F13 first, then the OTM, then I found pics of a cherry AK 47, a colombian red point, a red panama (story), a red skunk or Brazilian landrace cross (red cherry berry), and also found a red stem oaxacan in my own garden, besides the red stemmed Kalimost foxtail powerfully pleasant pheno. So much middle american red lines and so few asian reds that I have not seen one to date...told me to make this thread, talk the red talk, and walk the red road to see what I get. Now, the purple underleaf shading is seen more in Colombian landrace than mexico, so far.....but that's another expression package altogether

From red to black purple is just some more blue in it, so do we take the red pill or the blue one

I'm sure similar characteristics could be found elsewhere, but the high from my flo selections, though calm, does not inhibit social functioning or work in any way. And, of course, my flo has red stems :P I just tried one pheno of dj's flo that I harvested recently and its much more warm and fuzzy than my flo: Clear, but not exceptionally functional or motivating. It's more of a really clear and euphoric indica high.

![]() Cheers RC_Colas ![]() [quote=Mr. Alkaline; The legend may be over hyped, but I hope DJ is telling the truth about the duration back then, and if so....then nothing I have smoked lasts more than his oaxacan back then. I hope RC found it this month!!!!!! Fingers crossed [/QUOTE]
