At least Ron Paul said it's only a step in a direction, because he's right. This guy is a champion of the local medicinal marijuana industry, not people who want to be free, know the difference.

without support these bills are going nowhere. write your congressperson and make your views known to them.

You're probably right. I posted the article as part of the plight of states' struggle to reform.

All I've seen from Rand, other than Aqua Buddha is voicing support. As a senator, he'll be around for a while. I'd like to see Rand make the best of legislating, rather than taking the unconstitutional approach as default deference. He's so free on freedom I think Ben Franklin had Rand in mind when he cautioned that the Constitution provided too many freedoms. Too many freedoms tears us apart, not to mention ripping us off. Constitutionalists often subscribe to a single, static interpretation. They always forget we're a democracy and they're not the barometer until they get a majority. That said, I'm interested to see if the weed champion mimics Barney Frank and actually introduces or co-sponsors reform bills each session. I'm sorry Barney didn't preclude with "Don't get yer hopes up." Besides, we aren't likely to benefit from Frank's present bill unless we live in Massachusetts. Had it not been for the recent escalation in federal threat to med states, I recon Frank would have introduced one of his more familiar, federal reform bills. If Rand's the champ, consider encouraging him to actively legislate for national reform. Actively, in the form of helping advance legislation. A yes vote on a bill is great. But the champ could be championing vs supporting.
