Thumbs up Strawberry Diesel IX

Figured I should start a new thread for this baby. The stats, once again: Day 45, 600w. Out of 10 seeds, 2 made it past the seedling stage- im not sure if this is my fault or if its the seeds, Im not a newbie by any stretch of the imagination. One male, one female. The plants smelled pretty skunky in veg- odor control is a must. In flower, the male didnt smell of anything in particular- the female smells of strawberry, and looks like a total winner. Thanks for the excellent genetics and great price, Ganesh. Hit up one of the branches with some pollen to make seeds. Excellent yeild expected, you can see her totally eclipse a whole raid can (you only see the cap because I wanted it there for reference). She threw out an odd banana or two this past week, they appear to be sterile.

She has been yellowing like crazy since week 4, which has me worried. You can see some of that yellowing at the bottom, but those are the leaves that remain- a lot more dropped off and cant be seen here. If you think you can help, please post in my thread there https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=4464783

LurkerDude looking very good.
Looks like you'll be yielding.

What happened with the seedlings? Didnt they germinated?

The reports on germination of Strawberry Diesel IX are stellar. Always +90%

Glad to know you managed to find at least one nice female.
Keep us updated on the grow.

Hey Ganesh, if I remember correctly they all popped except 2, but after showing tails and being transferred into the dirt, they either didnt pop at all, or they would pop up then just stop doing anything. Im not sure if its my soil or if its the seeds. Im glad I got 2 packs, so maybe the next one will be better. Also made some F2's of these in case that was your last batch of SD. Havent had the pleasure of smoking her yet but from what I see so far, this strain cannot be allowed to die

Judging by the yellowing, spotting, and clawing of your leaves I'm gonna say she was stressed into hermi...ing. I had a heat/ventilation issue that stressed a plant like that several years back. What are your temps like and what's your intake/exhaust setup? What sort of soil mix are you using? If you're going to go through the trouble to get genetics like these then you should also make sure you have a good soil mix and be using some good ferts, not miracle grow IMO. When I first started growing I tried the miracle grow stuff and while it may work for some I've had MUCH better results without it. You said in your other thread that this is a problem you keep having so obviously your setup can be improved. Let's straighten it out so you can grow these girls to their full potential.

Week 8, and the yellowing has finally stopped. New pistils have been packing on heavy in the main cola, the rest of them seem to be ok. Mainly a mix of clear and cloudy trichomes under the microscope, so Im guessing she has about 2 weeks left. Im switching over to plain water for the flush now. She smells like strawberry and skunk, but if you actually touch the buds and smell your fingers, its an incredible gasoline/strawberry smell, I could not stop smelling my fingers, I hope the aroma carries over to the buds after the cure.

Strawberry Diesel likes a bit of nitrogen into the 4th week of flower.

LurkerDude- You are wise beyond your years for hitting that branch with some pollen...

Thanks, I plan on hitting up the best female of the pack with the pollen of one or more of the SD males to have an emergency personal reserve of SD genetics around in case they become unavailable again. I might even end up having a few to share since my SD99 that was pollinated in the same manner yeilded about 50 seeds. It looks like Ganesh definately produced a pretty consistent incross, so I'd be quite curious to see how a further cross would turn out.

2.5 gallon. 4 weeks of veg exactly, so I guess about 12 inches tall.

Very nice LurkerDude.
Looks like you are almost there.

Hope you share some more pics before the harvest.

Thanks Ganesh, I harvested her today, at week day (day 63). Looking under the microscope, I think she could have gone to week 10, but unfortunately circumstances have forced me to take her now. A rough estimate of the trichomes under the microscope shows about 70% cloudy, 20% clear, and 10% amber. Good enough for me, I prefer to avoid too much indica couchlock anyways. Started thinking about germing more beans, and I noticed one in the pack is very small and white and immature. WTF seedbay?

Also Im not sure why but if you look at the main cola, one section has a very different color to the rest of it. Yeild is huge, even the little bottom nugs were quite big. Odor is strawberry, vicks/gasoline, and a hint of skunk
