damn you guys it's been near impossible keeping up with one thread on lurk mode. now you gonna split the convo in two places! makin me work for this shit! lol.
ive got a little 1/2 ton arbor press with a titanium plate hair iron taken apart and fixed to the press. been getting great results with flowers. definitely looking at APE's press for inspiration for the next step. many thanks to comphashon for sharing this back in the day. i was like "DO WHAT WITH MY BUBBLE FOR HOW MUCH RETURN?" clearly you were on to something big, man. also sunfire, HMK, ganjapharma, roji, & ringo for takin the research so far in the other thread and sharing your findings.

Well the hash washing machine was a success...
2 more oz to play with. Pre-pressed the majority of the water out (who cares right, we are heat pressing the shit anyways). I also made an oz of fresh frozen bubble I will play around a bit with. Seems a shame to waste it tho, as it already just melts from the heat of gloved hands... Ah for the love of ROSIN eh. |

Heady blunts, for the price, I think you got a great set up lol! Seriously. You may want to step up the pressure in the future maybe. I'll let yall know when I finally feel I can make a conclusion as far as pressure in relation to heat. I still have a lot of fabrication to do, I need more kief, and I've got a lot of shit going on outside the rosin world. I will some day test with 9 different pressure amounts. New design concepts are indicating I can test from 500 psi up to 6000 psi. It all seems relevant to the material though. Greener kief and flowers may need more pressure but but super melty sift does not, it seems to literally just melt.
BFP - yeah baby! I love the washing machines. You know you can actually put two wash bags in there at the same time and double your production, brim it with water if you do. I'm telling you bro, you can indeed have too much moisture, I have experimented with that. Too much and it literally will drip out into your product. Too much with flowers seemed to make the product very dark and the left over material in the filter bundle was straight black. The moisture I think increases the internal pressure, not sure though but one day we gotta figure out optimal moisture content. NO DON'T ROSIN THE FRESH FROZEN!!! Please don't do it lmfao! obviously do what you wish but I don't understand why people want to rosin their super melty stuff. I think that's all people on instagram want to do to look cool and have their collection of hash porn. I mean yeah that's cool, they got clear rosin. But what percentage of super high grade are you going to get off a bunch of trim? I think in reality most people will be pressing not so high grade kief. That's what I'm trying to focus on from a production point of view. I don't think anyone with multiple hundreds of pounds of trim is going to do two tumbling phases, then dry sift everything, then press only the super melty stuff. The fresh frozen water hash I make will stay in the form, atleast the A grade. The B grade will get pressed. Bit of a rant, can you tell how much instagram pics make me depressed...? |

aright so I just took some of this....
pressed it into a ball right quick, heated up a pyrex, and got to rubbing it in. Ended up with a gooy mess. So then I took some parchment paper and put some inbetween two pieces and ironed it. Another gooy mess. I want some ROSIN!!! anyone with game please lace me... What am I wrong, and whats the latest greatest method?

haha the old pyrex and spoon rosin. old school!
sounds like maybe your iron was too hot GM. you can use a lamp dimmer (or fan speed controller) to turn it down past the lowest setting. i find with even half melt keif that i can press at way lower temps than flowers. 180* is plenty. anyway since the soilgrown hair iron revelation most of the rosin convo happens on this thread: New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

I also read that some Afghani or Pakistani hash workers would beat a 20lb lump with sticks. ( to press the hash for sale)After a certain time they scrapped off a couple Oz of golden oils. This was prob the original rosin, from at least 100 years ago. |
