Iced Grapefruit Micro Grow

I wanted to share a few shots of my Iced Grapefruit keeper. I grew out one 5-pack, all germed within 48hrs. I had several super-stretchy girls with thin sativa-like leaves that I couldn't keep up with in my 2sqft cab; they tripled in height and I could literally watch them grow. One just didn't seem especially vigorous. One appreared to be a heavy indica pheno, with rock hard nugs which later put me to sleep like nothing else. And I got one special girl.

She doesn't stretch much, barely doubles in height. Self-pruning, I don't remove leaves at all, but she dropped her britches on her own at the start of the show. Would probably be great for scrog. But the reason I chose her was because she stinks! My other IG girls had little to no odor in veg and no noticeable smell until 3-4 weeks into flower. Not this one. Bite down on some grapefruit rind and a cardamom pod and you'll get an idea of what she smells like.

Here's a shot at day 38 of 12/12. She's already super frosty and the buds are chunky and dense. On the right is a blueberry mutant (not good for indoors). The difference in bud size is ridiculous. I harvested a small lower bud after taking this photo, got some crazy visual effects and felt pretty damn good. But in the week since then she has really packed on some weight and now looks like she was rolled in sugar.

This is my second round with this girl. First time was in small pots just to see how they turned out, and I didn't get much yield (especially since I was constantly sampling!). This run she has ~3.5G soil. I have a clone ready to go when she's done, will run one only in a tub holding 13G soil and veg for 5-6 weeks with a little LST.

I'll get some better photos up soon! I definitely recommend IG, and I'm very happy with the seed quality. I'll be trying other crosses from FS for sure. The quality of these genetics makes me wish I hadn't spent years messing with bagseed. Live and learn.

Edit: the skinny bud front and center belongs to the blueberry mutant on the right.

I've seen your grow threads, don't think you have much to worry about! I wish I could do more outdoors, and grow TREES. I have a spot selected for a few plants, but they will be trained low to the ground.

Based on growing clones of the same two plants under a 250w HPS one round, and CMH the next, my girls appear to be more frosty under a CMH bulb, and don't stretch as much. I'm not sure if CMH makes them more leafy though, as many report.

I'm guessing I'll harvest her at 65 days. I definitely don't want to harvest late like last time. Here's another flower at 47 days.

If you dont mind ... you wont got nothing good with tiedown.
Its for those who love magic in growing.
Let them grow in bushes/squad and you will be happy.

Believe me, 20 plants on 40m2 will give less than 8 plants on same area of 40m2 ... outdoor.
One squad builded plant will give much more than 3 tied down.

however you doing good job with you micro grow !!!

Hmm, I can't have outdoor plants over 4-5' tall for stealth reasons. That's why I'm waiting until mid-Summer before putting cuttings out. Do you think topping will allow them to stay under this height limit?

Even the leafy popcorn buds on this plant are dripping with trichomes:

The next two weeks need to hurry up!

Look, plant can be 3m in diameter but only 1,5m tall, well I prefer more tallness plants ... between 2-3m.

You grow ICED Grapefruit and there I can not advice you from experience but what I know Grapefruit can be squad but tall just 1-1,5.
ICE are hard to control because ICE want to stretch and its between 1,5-2m.

Thats if you do pre-growing indoor and do early transplanting, but if you transplant them around Jun 10-15 you wont have problems at all with plant tallness.
In my arrangement, they are tall about 0,8-1m at Jun 10-15 and there goes massive topping if I need really squad plant.
However, last topping I do 2 weeks before flowering.

I'm halfway through week 8 of 12/12. I'm pulling out the pocket microscope tonight, because she's nearly ready. I'll harvest before the end of week 9. I'm taking small samples daily and drying them over 24 hours, so I've been able to follow the plant as she reaches senescence.

All the buds are within a foot of the 250w CMH bulb, and because of their close proximity appear to be ripening at the same time. I'm going to harvest everything at once.

She's done! She went nine weeks to the day. Given that she was low on nitrogen a few weeks earlier than I wanted, I expected her to finish sooner. I didn't start seeing a significant percentage of amber trichomes until around week eight.
