Nice posts Capt.

I just used a very stinky and well structured Chemdog 4D male to make a few beans...just went with the stink...stinky stinky stinky he was. So stinky I almost didn't like him!

great thread crip, heres my 2 cents

stinky , resiny, hollow stem(to me this makes bigger heavier faster buds) , late to flower(not the first males to show),
i also think huge pollen sacks = huge caylaxes but thats my theory

Thanks for the comments...
Shawkmon,
Yes indeed hollow stem usually go hand in hand with high potency...And this is one of the steps you will see in the next installment..I usually start looking for hollow stems around the 7th node..You can usually feel in a wide place on the stem(generally 3 to 5 nodes from the top)and slightly add pressure until you feel like it is getting ready to collapse...do not worry if it does..(put a splint on it)
I do not think it is as foolproof as extra-strong odor but is a good indication of high potency genetics..

Hummus Monk,
sounds like you might have just stumbled across an excellent male to play with...The ones that stick out like a sore thumb with almost hideous odor is the exact thing you are looking for..
You will only know for sure after growing out some of your seeds but I think you are going in the right direction..

Maj.Cottonmouth, you are not years awy from making hybrids,,,you are just a male and female away..If you are getting profecient at growing then you can make some seeds...give it a try...
Take care.......................... .......CC

Beam me up capt! This is kinda like pepsi giving out their secret ingredient....but i aint the type to look a gift horse in the mouth. For those of you that dont know the capt's skills first hand, all i can say is its amazing. He popped in my garden(first go at it) a few times, and immediately knows whats wrong, what to do, and reveals little tricks that one would never think of. I would have never made harvest if not for him. May be my first grow, but I've been in the plant growing bizz for many yrs, so I recognize experience and skill. Think I'm gonna start 50 of ur beans Capt, but ill let you show me what to look for?
