Bogglegum Harvest!
Here are some pictures from my first harvest. I am pretty satisfied with my results.[IMG][img]
They are being kept in those locking jars as you can see. I have been opening them for about an hour a day. Is this enough for a cure, or am I supposed to take them out of the jars and lay them out once in a while? Last edited by BenitoCereno; 06-21-2004 at 06:19 AM.. |

The bud "In Hand" looks like BOG's picture on Gypsy's site. Nice work. Small harvests should be hung in a cool dry dark place with adequate ventilation for 7-10 days (or until the stem snaps without much flex.True drying time will vary by location) and then placed in jars to be burped (as you describe) an hour a day for another week to 10 days. After that cure time is up to your tastes. Jarring still moist weed will result in that moldy smelly or worse the dreaded "Cat piss" odor.

Oh, I forgot to say that I hung the plants for 8 days and the stems snapped.
The buds are pretty damn dry now. They are nice and shiney but are only super sticky when you grind them up. Oh and they flowered for like 51 days, they could have used maybe a week more but I had to get outta town. What is the story with those 3 month cures that people talk about? Try it and you will see. Some old timers let it cure 6 months before they even think about smoking it. It takes mad Patience. It will enhance subtle flavors and maybe even bring out a flavor you didn't know was there. If your bud is harsh it will smooth out.

The 3 month cure was invented by the guy who had at least a 3 month supply.
YOUR supply may not last that long.

I forgot to add that you will smoke all those buds, and run out.
You'll have to start again. Planting, nurturing, and tending fragile seedlings or clones, raising them into bushes and flowering them for harvest. Canibus smoking leads to canibus cultivation which leads to more smoking. Its a viscious cycle my friend. Be warned. Serious addicts soon find themselves fluent in the language of sative/indica crosses. Frequently they find themselves pondering things like Haze, Apolo, Life Saver. Money is squandered on lights, electricity, nutes, hydro, seeds, soil and pots. And you can be happy doing it in the comfort of your own home.
