Hey all
some month ago i recieved some seeds from gambia (africa)
my crazy friend went on a boat to a small island & collected some seeds in a huge hearbfield before he left i joked eyy get some seeds back & the crazy bastard did it ,im forever thankful

has anyone grown or smoked ganja frome gambia ?

i know africa got some real potent sativas like durban ,ethiopian black magic,swazi etc

but how about gambia ?

Not myself, real interested in it though. Hopefully you can do a grow and tell us what you get, maybe do a little breeding or donate some of the seeds.

It sounds like Jinack Island, the place is reputed to be protected by spirits (or something) which stop law from destroying the cannabis fields. If you do a search you should find some photos of plants growing in the island, they're sativa, I get the impression that it isn't considered to be the best but i could be wrong, best stuff is called Lopito but I'm unclear on if thats processed in some way.
I saw someone start a post about growing the strain once but they never finished it.

I have also some Gambian beans from an exchange... they are supposed to be from a small local farmer, so probably just landraces that need a big breeding work!!!

Never tried them yet... but that african region is amazing, so Im pretty sure they could be dope ass sativas!

Ive grown a variety of african strains, and I must say They are right up there with my favorites. Im working on an african x Landrace Affie now Best of luck with the Gambian

The Casamance region of Senegal is south of Gambia and during the recent war there a lot of cannabis was grown, because of the geography it was said that the local plants had some kind of salt tolerance. The same might be the case for the Gambian.

the moog. you got right jinack island,but heard that the police has burned down the hearbs some days after he went there :(
he smoked a lot of the landrace sativa they got he said it wasnt that great it only lasted for 15 min buzz lol,schwaag or he just got ripped off probably

seems to be alot of herms there to,anyway to clear things up the seeds i got
was that the locals call skunk (lopito) ,ofcourse not the real skunk thank god,but some hybrid maybe, really sticky lemon smell ,he smoked that and lied on the ground for 2 hours he said it was superb hearb & thats the seeds i got.
but the thing is he only smuggled like 5 healthy beans & 30 green dried cracked seeds,what an genius lol he risked jail for bringing in 5 healthy beans

anyway when the right time comes i will test grow them & see and share pictures with you

Hey.

Ive grown out one Gambian female.

My brother was in Gambia, and brought back some seeds.
He told me the weed was off no good quality, brownish and missing crystals. and rough handling.

Most weed in Gambia is supposedly grown in a place called Coconut Island.

Heres a few pics.



Theese pictures are not end result.
She flowered for 6 month.
The yield was poor.
Smell was like "Tic Tac" those mouth freshner candy. very appealing.
Effect, was up, but not strong at all. weak high.
The oil i extracted was not bad. But dissapointing..
