HFH planting out 14 hours daylight
Hey there, im at 53 lat N. I have Danish gold and Danish cheese (4 weeks old) vegging under a HPS on 18/6.
I need to get them out in the ground next week, starting tomorrow. Were on exactly 14 hours days now, is this likley to cause trouble with the plants flowering etc? Esben im looking for your experiance with these strain as you are the man! Thanks alot, Doc .T. |

At 55 on 24th may we will have 16.00 hours almost exactly, this is when ill be looking to plant out.
My understanding is that even 16 hours is enough to trigger flowering in the earlier strains. So, i would have thought you would be risking 4 weeks of flowering, plus the extra cold, if you went out now. Having said that, anything is worth a try, i have been thinking of putting a couple out just to see what happens to them.

i think you wont find any problems in doing that drtruman. you might see the small ones showing pre sex signs, but they will return to a normal veg stage fast and start normal flowering around mid or end july and done by mid or late september
best wishes out there! |

I'm at 53 n too(netherlands), last year I started NDB utside about half april, I think NDB can compare in earliness with a lot of the danish strains(about the same harvesttime as the UK08xTyphoon, and the typhoon the year before, in september)
I had no problems woth them getting into flower, but they were practically doing nothing until the end of april/begin may(they did come up, then stayed small plants for a long time), so there is probably not much profit in planting before that time here but those weren't pregrown indoor, maybe the extra stress of a changing environment will trigger them to throw out some flowers |

right, thanks alot for the replys! Well the first lot of danish cheese are out with some gold to go tomorrow so its kinda outa-my-hands now.
Thing that concerns me most is the fact that there about reaching sexual maturity and the decrease in light from 18 - 14 hour days might confuse them. Esben il be sure to start a diary on here shortly, been taking lots of pics from the start so watch the space! |

I've been considering this same thing - germinated and vegging my HFH strains at 17/7 indoors. But so far, outdoors we are only up to 14 hours of daylight.
Reading Esben's reply regarding the change in daylight -- that the plants will either remain or return to normal veg state -- makes my worries go away. I hope to get my plants in the ground by first week in May and by then we should be very close to 15 hours of daylight here.

I have my first lot (hp and hp2) out since the start of April.. just about 14h light, they were started in the green house under natural light in March
![]() Very early to start I know but you have to do these things to find the best time to start and plant out. So far the only real difference I've noticed is slow growth and 2 males of Esbens hp2 went full auto ![]() No preflowers on the females yet so I'm going to assume they were happy enough to grow slowly but not flower. |

Honestly, I can't think of a better scenario: I can cull out or isolate the males early and I know who my girls are in time to plant out in the garden. Lovely color on that male. I just started a pack of the Hashplant2s and hope I get lucky with some color too!

i germinated b3n7 erdpurt, afghan erdpurt, and brown super 07 about a month ago. super 07 males have started to show themselves(under 24 hours of light). i've got some erdpurt f3s that were planted a 10 days earlier that are yet to preflower(hoping for high fem count). Was already planning an indoor seedrun with the afghan erpurt and b3n7 but i'm gonna have to keep a couple fast super 07 males around for breeding.
