First please don't start criticizing me and telling me to go take an electrical class and all .

i have a pre wired mogul socket that i was going to use this 65w cfl in

i take the cfl out the box and get ready to put it in the pre wired socket and realized something was not right

( NO BALLAST )

well i did not realize when i bought it , that it was not self ballast like most cfl`s are

would the big cfl work in my remote 150w ballast ?

i know its only 65w ,

now i know im a dumbass when it comes to this shit

but if a 26w cfl is like 100w of power

then wouldn't the 65w cfl be able to handle 150w ?

if im completely wrong please just let me know

i will return the cfl

but if i can use it then let me know

ballast is intergrated into the light, bassically its plug and go. if you got a reflector and holder take off the bit that goes into the ballast and attach a normal plug, jobs a good 'un, happy days.

(Edit) i stand corrected those do look like unballested CFL's, i wasnt aware there was any tbh so i went n looked, send em back or fork out for the appropriate ballast. (see https://www.lightsofamerica.com/Products/9142B.aspx- indenticle)
i thought the base looked tiny. ballested ones are fat. You need a ballest or they wont fire. gotta match light to ballast, never do what you were thinking, fire hazard!
