National cancer institute says MMJ has "direct antitumor effect"

Well they did for a day or two, but then they changed their wording... hmmm.

National Cancer Institute scrubs “anti-tumoral effect” of cannabinoids from website

You may recall last Wednesday when we pointed out this incredible paragraph on the website of the National Cancer Institute at cancer.gov, on their general information about medical cannabis, touting its antitumoral effects:
The potential benefits of medicinal Cannabis for people living with cancer include antiemetic effects, appetite stimulation, pain relief, and improved sleep. In the practice of integrative oncology, the health care provider may recommend medicinal Cannabis not only for symptom management but also for its possible direct antitumor effect.
NCI apparently got a talking to from someone, because now that page has been scrubbed of any reference to the direct antitumoral effects of cannabis:
The potential benefits of medicinal Cannabis for people living with cancer include antiemetic effects, appetite stimulation, pain relief, and improved sleep. Though no relevant surveys of practice patterns exist, it appears that physicians caring for cancer patients who prescribe medicinal Cannabis predominantly do so for symptom management.
See for yourself:

Thumbs up

Now this is an extraordinary piece of information! Finally the medical community vetts our constituent cannabinoids! For a serious concern too.

Maybe with this information being sent to everyone who is or may be touched by the dreaded cancers will capture peoples attention and turn their opinion toward the truth!

Celebrate this momentous occasion by sending this link to your congressman or senator. With enough exposure, this has got to change how cannabis is perceived.

This is almost certainly in preparation for either of:
- federal acceptance of medical marijuana; or
- the arrival of Big Pharma marijuana products; or
- something bigger, like Federal decrim (unlikely).

The most likely being the 2nd option (if following the $).

Won't help all of our brothers and sisters already in jail or facing court cases for growing this evil devil plant. Still great news though, the hard part is making the naysayers actually believe it.

Although the link above goes directly to the antitumor effects, it is part of a larger summary of the medical qualities of cannabis with regard to cancer patients : https://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/p...ional/AllPages

I think it's worth reading through all of that to see what cancer.gov has to say about cannabis/cannabinoids, and to save a copy given other recent government edits about cannabis and anti-tumor effects

How does this make sense???

Quote:
In clinical trials of Cannabis, euphoria is often scored as an adverse effect.
Can someone please tell me WTF is Adverse about sick people experiencing a little euphoria???

Good read tho, very thorough and positive...and on a .gov site no less.

Feels as though something big is imminent,,,never seen canna in the news as often as it is, and in a positive light no less.
