MG def? Low PH?
I know this is small def, but I want to fix it asap so it doesent get any less-greener! What do you guys think? There should be planty of nutes in the soil..I have quality soil with biosuper mix from plagron 5%.. that should do! I really suspect low ph and locking out Mg and shit... Peace and love, Agnes |

I think you're right to suspect low pH first. Be sure your meter is calibrated and your calibration solution is fresh.

Curious if that chart is for soil or soiless? Also what is " too low "?

I am right there with you Agnes on the low PH. I had the prob with my Morning stars. I think I have it remedied now though. I raised the PH in my water from 6.5 top 7.0 and that fixed it.

I believe that chart is for soil. Any pH above 6.3 and below 7.0 or so shouldn't be a problem with most varieties of cannabis. In soil, phosphorous and magnesium are first to be locked out as pH falls, but the symptoms of phos. def. aren't nearly as obvious as those of mag. deficiency, so you usually notice mag. symptoms first, IME.
If you aren't able to test the pH of your water/runoff, I would recommend buying a few gallons of distilled water and flushing lightly with that. The pH of distilled should be *near* 7.0 somewhere. |

Agnes you need to go to a grow store and get some clibration solution and calibrate your PH meter. If that is not possible go to a pool supply store or hardware store and buy a cheap PH test kit for pools.
Instead of buying distilled water for the same money you can buy RO water. It is much cleaner. Iam no expert ,but those are my 2 cents GCG |

Is there anything else you can use for mg def, I am lazy and don't wanna go to the store for epsom salt...whats the diff between it and table salt? I know you don't EAT epsom salt but just curious. My new growth has some tiny rusty spots.

I once shouted loudly for magnesium from the sanctity of my toilet but found it wasnt much help either. I eventually had to go someplace and get it as opposed to feeding my plants cooked spinach.
