Sorry it was an indoor grow 400w HPS.
I'm currently growing three Krystalica x Satori hybrids in one 27ltr rectangular pot. They are in early flower. 12/12 from seed and radically defoliated every two weeks. LST as well. I keep them very low and spread horizontally so the canopy is about 12 inches deep. I have four other boxes of Chill-Om x Satori. I look to get at least 50-70g per box. I defoliate one plant per day. Taking every leaf with a stem, from top to bottom. I juice the leaves with tomato juice, garlic and olive oil. For arthritis. It really helps. I don't decarboxylate the leaves. I vape enough to cover the THC side of things. The plants branch like they have been topped and don't stretch much. Lots of bud sites everywhere, but they don't get massive colas. However the popcorn buds are a lot more solid. Quality buds. It suits me in winter as I don't have a vegging area and have limited vertical space. The Chill-Om x Satori cross is a good vape. I'm not sure the Satori father had much influence, the plants look and vape very much like their mother. I have a few thousand seeds so I'm going to practice my growing skills on this strain, see if I can improve the quality with better growing techniques. |

Well I'm about 5 weeks into flower and things are looking quite promising thanks. I have three ladies going - one with a intoxicating pungent aroma and one looks to be a real producer yield wise. All are dripping with crystals and super sticky with dense buds already. I'm outdoors and using older seed stock circa 2012. I'm sure the freebies you got are the same seeds they sell to others.

Sorry about the delay in updating. I ended up getting three distinct pheno's from three females. I got two Mandala type A plants and one Mandala type B plant. I had to pull a little early due to wet weather (approx. early October) and only one plant seemed to suffer. Yields were very good. I could easily get an elbow per plant in a 45L pot outdoors. All pheno's were slightly mold susceptible (~5-10% loss) for my climate which is pretty standard for all strains I've grown. Overall I give this strain a solid 8 out of 10 overall. Maybe after another go I could get it up to an 8.5 out of 10. It's as good as weed needs to be IMO. It's maybe even great weed just not anything exceptional.
Krystalica (Early Purple pheno) - Possible Mandala "A" type plant. Good side-branching. Got topped by pests and grew to around 4.5ft. This one finished the earliest and had some nice purple coloration develop late in flower possible due to cold weather. It had a fruity smell after cure, Guava maybe and featured a nice balanced stone/high. Overall I give this one a 7.5 out of 10 for potency/quality of high and 8.5 out of 10 in general for early flower characteristics, ease of growth and high yields. A great yardstick plant to judge others by. Krystalica (Kerala Pheno) - My personal favorite for both the quality of high and growing characteristics. It grew the tallest ~ 6ft and yielded the least. A definite Mandala type "A" pheno. Buds grew dense clusters spaced out along the branches with long and thin Sativa leaves. They also grew in a somewhat foxtail structure but the buds were still very dense. It had kind of a rotting meat smell, but in a good way, mid way thru flower that changed to a nice minty aroma towards the end of flower and after cure. Buds were light green and changed to a gold color after a good cure. High was fairly balanced, slightly Sativa dominant and very long lasting. Overall an 8.5 out of ten for potency and a 8.5 overall. Krystalica (Nepalese pheno) This one suffered the most due to the early harvest. Definite Mandala type "B" pheno. Grew like a Nepalese plant structure wise but the latest finisher. Large fluffy looking buds with a big main cola. The highest yielding plant too. Had a similar smell to the early purple pheno, a fruity guava. Unfortunately I didn't like the high. It was a little speedy, unfocused and for lack of a better word an annoying high. It was fairly strong, around an 8/10, but for quality of high I can only give it a 6. It really wasn't that enjoyable. No doubt due to the early harvest on my part. After a very long cure (6 months+) the high was a lot more enjoyable though. I'll try and post some pics of some budlets of the early purple and Kerala pheno. Please bare in mind they are over a year old in cure jars. SB |

Not really Sativa in terms of growth or flower. Can grow tall though. Effect is nicely balanced but Sativa dom maybe 65/35, The high was much like the description on the Mandala website. Aromas were tropical fruit (possibly guava) on two and mint on the other one. A very enjoyable and appreciated variety! Thanks Mike!

Sowed three and got three females (See Repuk 3d take... link on my sig). I think I got phenos B or C, definitely not A. Regarding the "fluffy-leafy" buds, I got those with certain strains when growing with LEDs, could be a pheno expression but most times is lack of light intensity, Krystallica is considered by Mandala as "high-demanding" sativa strain regarding light intensity required (minimum 400W per sq/m). This is highlighted on Mandala web site (may not flower properly if lacking light intensity).

From left to right: #3, #2, #1: #3: #2 #1 Defoliated, #3, #2, #1 Maybe #3 could be pheno A?
