Crosses / breeding projects with Cannabiogen genetics - post yours!
Cannabiogen has some genetics that are really well suited to crosses and breeding projects in their catalog. Dutchgrown has released a couple crosses with them. And I bet a lot of other breeders that just haven't been as open about it as she has have also used Cannabiogen genetics. But a lot of us hobbyists who maybe just like to pollinate a couple lower buds when growing personal smoke have probably used them too.
In fact I think they are a real blessing for us hobbyists. Why? Because Cannabiogen have done what we quite frankly don't have the means to do. Taken these exotic varieties, isolated the desirable qualities, and made them into indoor capable true breeding strains. Have you made any strains or crosses with Cannabiogen genetics? Post some pics and info if so, please! Here's a cross I made a while ago and am now growing out for the first time: Panama x Herijuana, vegging (click on the thumbnail for a larger image): This isn't the result of a planned breeding project or anything. I was just making some Herijuana seeds for my personal stash and happened to be growing some Panama at the same time. I figured why not do the cross just for fun since I had the pollen anyway and pollinated a couple of small buds from the tallest Panama as Herijuana is a very short strain. I don't have very huge expectations from this cross as I'm not sure if Herijuana will add much to the Panama high. Will this end up being kind of like just a lower yielding Panama? Well hopefully not at least in this F1 generation with hybrid vigor coming from crossing these two unrelated IBL's. Both can be very ornamental so I'm hoping to have a beautiful garden as they get to the late flowering phase. And here's a cross that was made by a friend of a friend: K.O. Kush x Destroyer (Pyynikin helmi), 8 or 9 weeks of flowering: I was lucky to get 5 seeds of this private cross. Was going to make f2's but didn't get any males. Oh well, it wasn't meant to be. Actually I don't know if seeds of this variety exist at all anymore. Not much stretch during flowering which I found surprising. Really eager to try some out as a few months ago I got to smoke some grown by a friend and remember it to be fantastic. But will still have to wait a couple weeks, all that drying and curing you know.. ![]() Hope talking about crosses is cool here by the way. If not feel free to bin the thread. Oh and I'd like to remind everyone that trading seeds or anything else is forbidden by the ICMag TOU so lets not talk about anything like that! |

Hi ,
Nice thread ! it's a good idea ! ![]() in future very near, I intend to make the following crossing: Jamaica Blue Mountain x Ciskei Jamaica Blue Mountain x Double Congo( Congo pointe noire x Congo black) Jamaica Blue Mountain x Brazilian Green Jarilla Sinaloa x Primera Dama Panama x Jarilla Sinaloa Panama x Brazilian Green Of course all will be reproduced, for the moment I do not have space for opened Pollination, I work thus with a small number of individuals but all will be to keep in plant mother while waiting for a few months that I have my space of reproduction; as soon as I would have it I would work the JBM (currently in growth), selection of earliest to acclimatize them (47N), I hope to succeed created a line made for outdoor in France; ![]() Thank you has Kaiki and all those which preserves these old strains and landraces, without them I could not work! ![]() ![]() Bless |

Glad to know you enjoy crosses with these things.
Have fun and dont hesitate, present feminized market is taking all males off your hands at least here in my place, i understand reasons for many to grow them but makes me bit sad to see many other ppl have not the chance to make their own seeds without any chemical treatment and we move in edgy times, from none to all, wished a more balanced offer and market. best luck Last edited by charlie garcia; 03-21-2011 at 08:22 AM.. |

one Q: You know I'm looking forward to those crosses! Cool stuff.
By the way charlie have you ever tried the same cross one Q is planning? Panama and Sandstorm both being your lines I have a feeling you might have. bocil: That Peyote Purple flower looks magical! And the JBM is looking good too. Can I ask what Honey White is? Some kind of White Widow cross maybe? freaks: Making a local outdoor line, that's awesome. Best of luck with the project. You're working with very interesting genetics. What's Brazilian Green? Is it a pure Brazilian or hybridized? charlie garcia: Yeah I've noticed that a lot of seed companies only sell feminized seed. I'm not totally happy with that but can understand it. Having tried getting some friends to test my crosses or offering them some seeds when they've asked for some clones I've noticed that many people simply won't grow anything but pre-sexed clones or feminized seeds. To make matters worse the people that do buy regular seeds might use them to make f2's and crosses ending up with a lot of stuff to try out before they order more seeds. The very subject of this topic in fact. Luckily the situation isn't completely hopeless and there are still some companies offering regular seeds as well. Like Cannabiogen for example. Thank you! Raco: Nice! Glad to hear you're popping some of those beans. You should be in for some real sativa goodness in a while. A pretty long while maybe but I'm sure it will be worth it.

Honey White is a community strain breed by Highlighter. He took the Highend seed line which he worked a bit, which is well known because of the legendary hashplant clone mom "Rene" used in her lineage, and combined that with "the white" clone. Then sorted them and made a second back cross to "the white"...making Honey White, essentially a "The White" Bx2...so pretty good basic genes in there to begin with. Really can't go wrong...

Hi,
thx for they's encouragements Charlie Love? :Brazilian Green is a pure landraces (or cultivar) sold by Brazilian seeds co, it is also known under the name of: Original Green. It's a strain origin is in Sao paolo and which come the Eighties, pure sativa not to long flowering (12-14 weeks), energetic effect, clearly and euphoriant; it's the first time that I cultivate it and I cannot say some more… In fact, I wish to work mainly only with landrace, my first objective ,it's of preserved them, the cross passes in second. cheers |
