what could change if i do 5 or 8 weeks 24/0 in veg time ?
i planned to have 8 weeks 24/0 MH lights indoor and 8 weeks 12/12 sunlight outdoor...but after read you now i am wondering: what if i do less weeks of veg ??

and why u do only 5 weeks ?

i fimmed the plants two times .
and when the outside leaves grow over the edge of the bucket i switch to 12/12.
if you grow sativa s you can switch sooner or they outgrow your space .
indica can veg longer .
8 weeks is ok if you have some stash to smoke .
but less weeks is ok .
i sometimes grow 12 /12 from day one .
but than they take a longer floweringperiod is my idea .
and the weed of 12/12 all the way is not as strong is my idea .
but it can be done if you want some fast stash .

what kind of strains are you growing ?

Hope I can get some help here. Years & years ago I saw a chart here on IC that show'ed the optimum distance plants should be from many different bulb sizes. Can anyone help me find this again?

Too many variables, even with the same wattage lamp. Depends on bulb size and construction as well as fixture design and how and where it's hung. To be safe, use the back-of-the-hand test. If you can keep your hand there for 30 seconds without getting too uncomfortable, then your plants will be fine as well. The trick is to keep them as close as possible. Remember to check every few days as they grow so they don't move up into the danger zone.

I was wanting to get a look @ this old chart again because I'm thinking about up grading when we move into our next house. Doing some production growing to help supplement my income. It would help when laying out a new grow to know what distance I should expect to keep plants to different sized bulbs.

this is still the best weed i ever grew in my life possibly the best i have ever even smoked ! but got lazy started messing with the 600 since i have a big house figured why not kick it up a nothce wasnt to bad but kinda now in days more triggered by the outdoors grow just becuse its so simple lol stick a bean in the ground and watch it grow.

Have you guys looked at the 150w CMH lights? You can get ballast from ebay for 20 buck and bulbs for 20-40 buck. Much better spectrum then HPS

They run cool too.

Philips CDM-TP is the one to look for. Must be "TP" as they are protected bulb rated for use in open reflectors.

So quiet around here these days. With the advent of inexpensive LEDs and the rapid move toward legalization, this thread has become a ghost town. I guess it's just progress, but difficult for an old timer to adjust to.

So here's a post on a non-related subject...

Ever want to know just how long your weed can stay in storage? Well I'm about to find out. I was doing a serious Spring Cleaning when I got a surprise. In an ancient box with old unused parts and empty nutrient bottles I found a sealed storage jar with about 1/2 ounce of buds. Well I'm guessing it was a half before it dried out. It wasn't a Mason Jar, it was one of those glass jars where the top is held in place by on a rubber gasket by a spring loaded wire. The date on the jar was 2001! The contents are in perfect condition except for their total lack of any moisture whatsoever. I carefully removed one, photographed it, and am now attempting to rehydrate it in a small jar. If I can get it to accept even a drop of moisture, I'll vape it in the next few days. I'll post the outcome when I do.

For now, here is a look at a 16 year old bud from one of the original Sata Nash harvests.
