PANAMA
Our Panama hybrid has been developed with different Panama strains. It is a serious breeding project of 5 years.
We have combined an old Panama sativa from the 70s, a 'green' Panama grown there nowadays and panamam red hair. Original tropical panama and colombians varieties need 4-5 mounths to flower and produce fluffy buds. But we have been working very hard to reduce the size, flowering times, to increase yields, bud density and resin formation of the original panama lines in our hybrid. We have also adapt the genetics to colder environments and have reduced light requeriments. Our Panama it's a vigorous and manageable sativa that can be grown indoors and in great variety of climates. She flowers in about 10-11 weeks producing very dense, resinous and aromatic high quality sativa buds. There are 2 phenos in the population, being both quite frequent: the green and the red pheno. The red pheno grows very bushy. Its young pistils have a characteristic red colour (and not the whitish classic colour ), and then magenta when they are mature. The high is strong, dense and psychedelic. The green pheno is lighter in colour, has wider leaf and thicker stems. The grown pattern is a little bit more columnar but still with very good branching. The green pheno flowers with the classic white pistils. The strong crystal formation and the light colour makes a nice combination of green and white. The high is a little bit clearer and more energetic than the red panamas. Both phenos have similar size, potency, bud density, resin formation and similar flowering times, finishing at mid October in temperate climates. The aromas are sweet, earthy with great terpene density and quality. Pics of the green pheno growing outdoors. |

The panama I have fits this description perfectly.
Green pheno with VERY thick and sturdy stems. Almost no branching unless she is forced to do so. Thick THICK white pistils. Finished by end of wk 11. Foxtails bring fresh pistils everyday, even when she's pretty much done. she smells of perfume or potpourri, very strong. When I first smelled her, I was amazed at the unique scent... but the scent is SO STRONG that it got a little uncomfortable to smell. cant wait to cure these buds. 2wks or so for report. Sad to say that the flower smell doesnt make to the Post Cure stage. Maybe I need to step up in the drying dpt?

have any of you seen red that is this red? would so love to get my hands on something like this:
my mamma' would talk about panama red, she said that what they used to get was far from a sativa though, one of the few that would truly knock her out to sleepy town...either way, if there's anything that looks like the pic, oh wow i'd love to check it out =)

Looks like results are coming well RC Colas, wish they cure well when done to get a deeper and longer lasting effect. Some may kick you very well. Glad to know, thx for letting me know
smokefrogg, nice looking is what some friends from mexico call mota canela (cinamon weed), they say were more often in the past, still you can find those colros nevertheless but more unusual today and not dominant traits, can show in between more population. Would like to isolate such color trait in future when time for. Stony sativa is what you may be telling about, not all sativas in the classic term we use, are electric, histerical or anxious at all but there are some of them which look like sativa more more or less but hit you mellow in a stony way. Some said this about old Panama Red. Red eyes, stony effect, some can be trippy as well in its stone. Not squat indica looking required for this type of effect. Best kaiki |
