Natural History books do hold value but they have to be written by the right author and published by the right publisher. Native American books are a safe bet as well.

I've sold books for the last 11-12 years and have seen prices crash and rebound numerous times. My Thompson collection alone would've sold 5 years ago for around $30k. Today I'd be lucky to get $8k out of it. I just wish I had money to invest right now.

Anyone interested in high end books or books in general should check this guy out.

cheng man ching is a tai chi icon,i havnt read any of his works but i know he wrote books in philosiphy and poetry also.
im hoping my collection will turn into a huge library with the little known texts and formative texts of martial arts espeacially dealing with the shaolin temple.
this wil be my next purchase for sure since im planning on attending the school but i recommend you buy this book and keep it locked up this art is disappearing because of of its obscurity and its transmissions were mostly oral and it is the highest form of the 72+ styles of shaolin. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...words=chanwuyi

Value-wise, keep an eye out for the First Edition Carrie. In VG+/VG+ they're selling for $2-$3k.

I'm unsure if I'm prepared for that much joy! I will put it on my ''To read'' list though. I'm a huge fan of I Ching which is another incredible book.

I'm an avid sci-fi and fantasy reader. My first notable collections were of Arthur C. Clarke and Michael Crichton. I've also loved Neil Gaiman, Neal Stephenson, Orson Scott Card, Lois McMaster Bujold, Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson... I used to read a lot of non-fiction, but I really get plenty of non-fiction in my life just from a career in engineering.

Do comic books count?

I'm no bibliophile. My den does has four large bookshelves, filled to overflowing. I've read and reread them all and am always looking to add to the mess. Probably need to get more bookcases soon . . .
