HFH strains grown in lower latitudes?

I am at 39 deg. North

I'm looking at some of your hybrids for growing my guerilla gardens this season. I must harvest by the end of September
I have a bunch of questions:

How do they perform at the lower latitudes like mine?

Will they autoflower at lower latitudes?

Are they heat/drought tolerant?

I hope to get a good discussion going on this. The clock is ticking and I need to make some decisions and buy some seeds.

Thanks friends

im at 45n and just ordered some snowdog and danish gold. From what I understand these strains and others from HFH will do well anywhere that has a difficult late season climate. Im looking to be done by end of sept/1st week Oct.

edit: i dont believe they have any runderalis in them, although i could be mistaken. I believe the strains from HFH are just all around good early outdoor finishers with good mold resistance, regardless of your location. At least i hope!

I've got HFH's Arne's Hashplant and I'm looking for another of Esbe's charmers to run here at 42N.

They should semi-auto here. I plan to trail a couple under 24h light for a month before before popping them out around the 1st of July to see if they'll go straight to flower.

HFH has good seeds. The ones I received are beautifully mature and nice - not a lot of pale pip squeaks like too many vendors include in their packs.

cheers badbeans! at your lat the hfh hybrids will not auto. they will semi auto flower and most of them will reach 1½-2 meter in end flower. they will love your conditions and become as nice as they are meant to. they can stand the heat\drought, most important is that they get a good grip in the ground from start, so you might have to water the small plants well in the beginning.

what are your plans? will you start them in pots or put them straight on the growspot etc?

Thanks to all for the quick replies.

Esbe if I am correct "semi auto flower" would mean that they would begin to flower soon after the summer solstice (jun 21 -22 can't remember for sure) Do I understand what you mean by "semi auto flower" correctly??? I don't mind if they will auto, I just want to be prepared for when they will begin flowering. I am growing guerilla and I don't like to visit unless necessary, for security reasons of course.

Last season I didn't plant out until first week of July, it was over 100 deg F the day I planted . I grew in cornfield. I dug holes aprox 18in x 18in x 12 deep added aprox. 1 gallon of homemade compost mixed well with moisture crystals and watered in the plants well. I started the seeds indoors under cfl bulbs for a week, then switched to 400 MH for a week then put hardened them off outside for a week then out to the cornfield they went. I did have to bring them water several times through July and most of August.

How do you think they would do if I waited until July to plant out? Do you think they would begin to flower immediatly? What kind of yields could be expected if planted out late June / early July?

Here are the seeds I am considering:
HFH Arnes Snowdog
HFH Hashplant.
HFH Deep Amnesia
HFH WhiteSuper07 (auto at my lattitude?)
HFH SSSDH

Thanks again for your help growers!

Hi BadB.
I hope it's ok if I throw up a few pics of HFH strains I grew in '08.......!?
The whole thing started in my yard, but due to the wet wet wet fall season, I placed them on my patio(?) which has a clear roof, just to finish them of...
The 'pink' one is an erdpurt cross, and was sweet sweet weed. The other was a DeepChunk cross....very potent and i got a kick out of watching those colors develope......
They were all grown vertically(normal) and then placed horizontally in big containers in start flower........made them yield very very nice.....like Toker said.....I quote:'Looks like a VW Beelte parked on your pati' hehe........have a look........:

Hope you like the pics....I enjoyed every step of the way....GREAT RESPECT to HFH.....

Awesome photos of those plants, Ludo. Thanks for posting them. Its really great to see how others are growing and succeeding with HFH gear in various climates... and it makes me even MORE excited to be testing HFH strains in my own gardens.

Hopefully I will do right by Esben's seeds and have some lovely photos like these to share come September/October 2011.
