Whats the score with growing in the corn?
I have noticed a couple of threads of late where people talk about growing weed amongst the corn.
This had never occurred to me before, but on reflection seems like an excellent idea. Could anyone explain to me the strategy by which this is done, and how to time it right. Not being a farmer, nor related to any, im not really clear about maize (as we call it) nor how to grow amonst it.

i grow since 3 years in the corn....what can i say - it works soo great!!
i pregrow them at home which is very importend.....and dont put it out to early because of 2 points!! 1. the farmer will spray once against pest and this will kill most of your plant if they are very too small 2. you dont want to overgrow the corn!! the plants have a good airflow and the all day direct sun!! they just love it!!

Let me preface this with some personal history: I farmed for nearly 30 years, right in the middle of the American corn belt.
There's been a big change here that makes growing in cornfields more difficult: Roundup herbicide. Unlike the old days where residual herbicides were applied in the spring, with Roundup Ready corn farmers will now do a quick burn down around planting time and then come in again a bit later -likely late June- and spray again with more Roundup. There are still places that you can use in a cornfield. Waterways are important erosian control so farmers avoid killing them with herbicide. However, many farmers will mow their waterways. If there are some hills in the cornfield look for terraces. Unlike the waterways, terraces usually never get mowed and can make an excellent planting place. Make sure you can find your gardens though -- even in fields I'd been over a hundred times I could still have trouble locating a spot when the corn gets ten feet high.

AND THEY DO THE CORN SPRAY AT THE END OF MAY-2ND WEEK UN JUNE DO NOT PLANT BEFOR THAT DATE OR UR CROP WILL GET KILLED OFF. U MUST MAKE ENOUGH ROOM ALL AROUND THE PLANTS SO THAT SUNLIGHT ENTERS FROM ALL ANGLES. YOU MAY THINK IS THINK IT FOOLISH BUT YOUR PLANTS WILL FILL THE EMPTYNESS FAST, FAR B4 THE CHOPPERS COME LOOKING IN THE FALL. DO MULTIPLE GROWS OF 11X11 PATCHES SO IF ONE GETS FOUND ITS OK.
doing it for over 6 years in a small town, it's all about (a) haviNg clones ready to go, directly after the farmers spray the corn for weeds, (b) it must be done in cow corn fields, this is easy to do because cow corn feilds are much larger in size. corn is sprayed for insects at the start of june, have your clones rdy to go then. the way it should be done in my opinion is enter a big field, at a spot that is easy to remember, now go at least 40 feet into the field, as farmers cut the outter ring of the feild first come fall. once u go 40 feet, rip out a square/ usually atleast 11x11 feet. Take care to actually remove the corn in this patch so that the roots do not steal all the water and nutes later on. Now go home for the night (the first steps i just listed must be done in darkness as the corn is still small and wont hide you). in a few nights return to your spot with your clones (make sure clones are no biggger than the corn all around them), plant ur clones annd repeat all of this a few times in differnt feilds as one spot may get spotted. |

6 season growing in corn feilds, i mean totally ripped out 11x11 squares! and one 1 has ever been found, my only mistake was planting too early, got hit by the round up and killed off 80% of every plot. mind you i did get in the end harvest 20% of my bud from atleast 10 differnt plots. please guys give it a shot im sick of people saying this method is bad or risky, just dont ever let the farmer catch ya lol u would become fertilizer.
GIVE IT A TRY |

11x11 thats huge
when they turn in the sprayers at the end of rows they always run some over so you never need to rip any off if you didnt want to, and using gps to remember where they are at would help |
