Germinating for 2011 Outdoor Season
I'm doing about 12 different strains outdoors this season, and HFH will represent at least 1/3rd of the total. I've got Esben's Hashplant2 in hand. And White Super 07, Arne's Showdog, Danish Cheese, Danish Gold and Danish Durban are en route to me as I write this.
I'm a certified, licensed medical marijuana grower. My outdoor garden is in Oregon (USA) at 45-46 N. lat. I'll be putting most plants directly into the ground, with a few 'test' and later finishing strains going into pots that can be moved under cover if rains start early in October. Just thought I'd include a couple pics to show how ROBUST the Hashplant2 seeds are. Everybody got the same treatment -- a 16-hour soak in their own cup of spring water, then planted about 1/4 inch deep in pre-moistened coco in the 'auto wicking' starter tray above. The HFH Hashplant2 popped above ground first, and all 5 out of 5 seeds are up and going strong. ![]() Once the first few seedlings popped above ground, I added some CFL lighting and then other strains started peeking above the soil. The TimeBomb is the only one missing in action - 100% MIA. This is my first post to include photos, so excuse me if they are not sized properly or blurry. I'm not using a high-end camera, nor would I call myself a photographer ![]() At any rate, I'll be filling up the rest of this tray and another one, once the rest of Esben's gear gets here.

All looking very promising MariJuanita, im also currently abusing 12 hashplant2 seedlings, and considering what a terrible gardener i am they are doing quite well also.
Looking forward to the comparisons later in the year, ill be putting mine out, (or cuttings from them) in May (Scotland).

Like you, I'll be putting cuttings out. Last year we had non-stop rain till 2nd week of June and I couldn't get all plants in the ground till June 15. This year will be better. I hope others will post up their 2011 Outdoor grow plans here too. Could turn into a fun thread with lots of "HFH strains in the garden" photos.

Thanks Bosco, ill be following the outdoor Irish run too. Who knows, one of us may find the holy grail, a strain that autoflowers in July, grows like mad, makes monster buds with a nice up sativa high and that loves sitting for weeks at a time saturated with damp, and being battered by high winds.

Wow! When are your last frost dates? I'm just below 42 north. I don't consider myself safe from frost until May.
Edit: Nevermind -- you're sexing and then planting cuts.

To be safe here, May also, April on a lucky year, but to plant out would be risky. Though i wouldnt mind doing half a dozen in April if its nice, just to see if i can grow a 3m plant

Here in the temperate Pacific Northwest (46 No. Lat - North end of Oregon's Willamette Valley), we're fairly safe from frost by April 1st. Sometimes an odd year may frost till mid April.
But what really kills us here? it's the never ending Spring rains that makes it difficult to put plants in the ground outside -- usually not till June 1st is it safe. In the last 10 years, only once have I been able to put plants in the ground May 1st, and once by May 15th. And boy, those were both VERY good harvest years. Last year we got it from both ends -- rain so hard and late I couldn't plant out till June 15th. Then rains started again mid September, so I had to harvest all my late finishers in the first week of October. I always hope weather will cooperate to harvest out to October 31st (Halloween), but only about 50% of the time is that possible. I WILL have a covered area for the late finishers this year. And I'll use this same area to set all the plants/clones OUT by May 1st, rains or not. YAY!!!!

What happens with your rains? does it just make the ground too boggy, or are they so heavy they batter the plants to death?
Im curious about other wet places.
