I live at 62 degrees N, and am curious about the same question. Most pot strains will grow outside here, but won't flower before the frost in early September.

How does this strain do with cool nights? Is it mold resistant at all?

sourflour, don't get too discouraged.. I've ran tons of s60s, mostly indoor with a handful outdoors. the outdoor I ran were even under shady conditions 90% of the day (under a giant oak tree) and they all got at least 1/2 oz.. Indoors, even in little 32 oz styrofoam cups and only 12 hours of 600hps light they were pulling 1/4oz minimum. I wasn't going for yield at the time with any of those otherwise I would have made sure I was in full sun outdoors, and 20+ hours of light indoors with 2 gallon pots and I would have definitely increased my yields substantially. If you have good soil and good sunlight there's no reason you shouldn't pull 3/4 oz. minimum from yours and I bet most end up over 1 oz. I'll be doing a bunch outdoors at a friend's land this May in pretty ideal conditions I'll try and get some pics..

Good luck with your grow.

All AF´s so far have worked well at 59, just give them a bit of room to grow and you´ll be surprised -Auto AKx47, Dieselryder, Blueryder have all been good.

I grew some outdoor Sour 60 last year. I dug 1'x2' holes putting three kids in each, kept 50% of the nice loamy native soil and filled the rest in with worm castings, peat, kelp meal, seabird guano & bat guano The plants all grew well in their different plots without any health problems or issues with the things that typically plague us as outdoor growers.

From what I've seen after two packs of seeds I can tell you a few of the impressions I've gotten. The germination rates were excellent, with all my seeds sprouting within 24 hours. The plants never got very large, including the two I grew inside (one male & one female). "Very large" is a subjective term, but I can say that given the same container size, the Sour 60's ended up much smaller than even some rooted pure indica clones that I transplanted into the bigger pots & flowered the same day without any veg time. That's pretty small. Also, many folks don't like the final product.

This is a quote straight out of my "grow log." It was written on December 2 of last year under a header that reads, "Lessons Learned from OD 2010":

"AF's should only be used over late-season mini's for two reasons. 1. To take advantage of potential grow space that may or may not be 12/12 all the time (space fillers in open corners of veg area?) 2. As an early harvest that's @ different time than the end of September (extra oz or two mid-summer)"

Those were only my own humble personal observations. I came to the conclusion that there were too many disadvantages to run them again this year. I'll still run plots with small plants, but I'll be making some changes. I'll be making the holes 2'x2' instead of 1'x2'. I'll also be putting in my usual (non-AF) outdoor strain instead of the Sour 60. I'm going to put some 6"-8" vegging clones out at the end of July & the beginning of August in order to see which timetable gives me the ideal finishing height. With my regular strain I can also better predict the final size because of the ability to clone, keep my canopy more even due to a consistent genotype being grown, have plants in the 24" range instead of the 14" range, yield a final product with more mass-appeal, have the plants be just as stealthy, forgo dealing with males & not have to buy seeds every year.

I don't want to sound down on my experience with the strain. I'm glad I bought a couple packs, I learned quite a bit from growing them all out, & maybe some day I'll give them another go, but for now they don't meet my needs.

So far 4/5 S60`s are females, the tallest one is about 60cm´s, the other three are about 40cm`s tall. Do to badluck with my DR`s (5/5 males) I started another six two weeks ago -100% germ but I´m keeping my fingers crossed and praying for them to finish.

I recommend buying two packs of ten, if you really want to smoke that strain.

To me it's what I originally thought about three seeds, some will die....some will be female. Maybe a dwarf or two. Anyway your looking for the good seeds and screw the rest.

These plants are explosive in growth, but they need sun all the time to get the yield because of the light time its exposed is small you need to get the light in to go fast and big.

I have my S60´s in good spots with plenty of light but I´d sure like to see them pack on some weight. How´s the smoke? They´re at day 45 now and the leaves are starting to yellow -normal or too little nitrogen?

The smoke is alright, i wouldn't worry too much about the yellowing . What size container are they in ? They pack alot of weight in final weeks and you are about there just have patience.

I harvested my S60's around day 65 or so. . . so yellowing at day 45 isn't all that crazy. Also, these are seeds, so there'll be a little variation in how the different individual plants behave.
