Hello folks,
Im looking for some advise.I have a bunch of sour60 seeds i am planning to grow outside at 46L.I have grown many OD crops but never a full auto. What would be the ideal pot size? Also are folks planting 2 or 3 seedling per pot and culling down to the best female?thats what I am planning on doing. any advise would be great Thanks |

What up Sourflower,
I ran a pack of Sour60 outdoor last year. I germed all 12 seeds, 3 didn't sprout, 6 males, 3 females. Of the 3 females. two were micro plants, only getting no more than 6 inches tall. (worthless) The one lone female, was 3 foot tall and smelly nice yield (2oz). Showed a little color mid way thru flowering. I definitely would grow them under lights to get some size before placing them outside. You have a good plan. I would put 2 plants per pot, and use 2-3 gallon buckets. peace Endur |

Definitely 2-3 gallon will do if you cant go open field.
Watch out for mold if you're in an humid area, cut nutes when the weather turns bad and you will be ok =K |

What up,
I don't want to discourage you, that's just my experience with Sour60. I wasn't impressed. Also My grow was a Guerrilla grow. Good Luck Peace ENDUR |

Auto diesel does well outside. And you can get it for $1/seed if you don't have time or aren't able to do a seedrun yourself.

I wouldn't get discouraged immediately. I think you can get some good results if you don't set them and forget them. Let them get seeded by not culling males and you've got a few hundred tries next season.
In my experiences with guerilla, you have to do the holes right. Hole preparation with some good dirt is key and use soil crystals to keep the dirt from going dry during the hat of summer. Dig them a couple of feet deep, maybe 1 ft wide. Autos have a taproot that shoots down quickly and if it gets interupted by hard, rocky soil, you've just lost a ton of yield. I start mine in big gulp cups to let the tap root stretch on down. Try using small chicken wire fencing cages spray painted black to protect them from critters and copper wire rings around the plant base to protect from slugs. Critters like to eat your baby plants. You'll do fine I'm betting if you spend the time to do it right. I also recommend the diesel ryders. Where is the $1 per seed deal?! |

Pretty good advise there grim, but there is no way I am going to seed my sour crop just so i can try a couple hundred next year...especially if they are as bunk as Endur says.
As far as hole prep goes, everything i have read about growing autos out side says pots are way better than holes.I dont matter though because I grow in bins. You might want to rethink the use of water polymers as well.I know i wont use them.I cut the bottom out of my bins and place in a marshy area, like a raised bed.i just add lime to the ground before i place the bin on it...I refuse to water if I dont have to. I dont think I will mess with full auto's again after this run, unless they turn out a zip per plant avg.I am guessing sour 60 will go 70-75 days outside. That takes me to mid Aug...where as some nice semi auto's I have grown in the past would be done 2 weeks later and give me up to 6 zips per bin. As for the copper rings...nothing beats slug and snail bait..I start hitting them as soon as the spring rain starts and put a few pellets down at every visit.I am don e battling them with anything but the real stuff.Lime, sand copper rings, egg shells...ect...you can have them.. Here's hoping I can yank a nice little sour60 harvest. |

What's your take on polymers? Hope they aren't toxic, I've been using them for a couple years! I read they impart off flavors to the bud, but I havn't noticed anything unusual. I don't use a lot of them though.

I would like to point out that, My guerrilla grows are proven to produce. I did prep soil/holes, also my watering technique is flawless. Definitely not a set them and forget them kinda grow. I just think with the amount of light they receive, it makes them want to flower right away. I did make a nice seeds stash with the 3 males, and all females (open pollination). I just started 3 of the seeds and two of them are only 3 inches tall, showing males, kept under 20 hours light. Anyways Keep It Green. Peace Endur |
