N deficiency in flowering.
I have one of Chimera's C+s budding. Today is 32 days since flipping to 12/12. Soil grow, FFOF soil and nutes. She seemed to need little Grow Big in veg. so I gave only a few applications. Now, however, the buds are doing great but the fan leaves are begining to yellow and die. It started with the lowest and oldest first, but its making its way up. I know that you want N deficiency before harvest, but is this too early? It is such a beautiful plant and I have high hopes for it and I don't want the wheels to fall of before she's fininshed. I got good advice on the problem over on CW, but it wasn't made clear at what stage the N fade should begin without affecting bud development. Sorry that I don't have a camera for pics.

30 is a little too soon... I'm not familiar with this strain, but if it is a 60 or less I wouldn't give any nitrogen. If it is a 60+ I might give em a little shot of N. I don't like to see the yellow until 3 weeks out, but I still haven't got my timing down on that yet. Some strains hold on to it more than others, so unless you are familiar it is difficult to gauge. Worst case scenerio is that your yield will be down a bit...but the taste will be good

It's a Aeric77 X Blueberry, 50-60 days. I guess when the bud leaves turn brown I'm done.

I don't because I've never had the problem before. The bud leaves and the smaller fans around them look great still. It's just that the ones below are lightening up and few on the bottom are dead brown.

Have you checked the leaves tips for burns ,,even i burn a very very small leave tips like a .02 of an inch with N and when it flowers it still will lose those yellowing leaves before its done ...looking back,,,when flowering..you still want to keep feeding her the Veg nutes until like the 3-4th week then go to Flowering nutes ...I havent done that but i think thats the next step you may need to try

I wouldnt worry about it......keep adding nutes for the buds.I stop all nitrogen 4 weeks out. doesnt look as pretty but it taste way better.. I pull the real rellow leaves of before they turn brown. you know when all you have to do is touch them and they break off. it will be fine. in 30 days you wont even remember being worried about it.

przcvctm - hey bro...few things that I can add that I hope helps...first, you want your leaves to be yellow at time of harvest BUT a healthy yellow. I wouldn't worry about nitrogen to much at this point as the Cali-O and Blueberry are both not very long flowering strains so at 32days just keep giving the flower nutes. I like to flush three weeks before projected harvest aswell for maximum taste. You want your joints to taste just as good on the last few hits as when you first lit it and for the ash to be as white as a virgins wedding dress which can only be done with a proper flush. Also you might want to get some trace elements like a liquid karma or something and some organic CAL/MAG.

Yeah, CL, this not a healthy yellow. I watered with bloom nutes this morning and noticed that the problem is changing and getting worse by the day. I've checked all the pics under the sticky here at Plant Infirmary and nothing seems to match. And as you know, I can't check OG. I think you might be right about a trace element problem instead of N. Please bear with this description. The leaf starts by lightening to light green to yellow. This takes place between the veins and after a few days the yellow between the veins changes to a brownish color and the leaf curls up and dies. This happens to two or three blades of a leaf first, then the rest of the blades if that makes sense.

You're description is perfect this time . You have a Mg deficiency , or Mg is locked out by ph problems. Check ph & if that isn't the problem , water with 1 teaspoon of epsom salts dissolved per gallon of water. Heat 2 cups of water in the microwave & dissolve the epsom salts in that. Pour the water & epsom salt mixture into a gallon of water & water away. You can also foliar feed with the same mixture for quicker absorption, although I would not foliar feed plants this late into bloom. The damaged leaves will not recover , but the problem shouldn't continue.
