Roots........ by Moonshine........
Im always looking for simpler ways to grow great meds with out all the throw away trash you normally have with conventional substrate. I was helping a friend who builds a form of these Tubes for a living and while going through the motions I noticed a few changes that could be made that would increase the amount of oxygen in the water and possibly increase health/growth/yield. This will be a thread devoted to our "Weed Tubes". (say it like your singing)
All parts and pieces of this set up can be purchased at home depot and the grow shop for around $500 including pump and res. This set up is 4- 8' 5x5 fence post set on a 50 gal res with a 1550gph inline pump. Plants are spaced @ 1 ft c-c. there are 8 plants per tube for 32 total. 24" c-c between tubes. inside we are using 3/4" tubing with 360degree aero sprayers. There are also a few additional secret additions that are proprietry. First pic is approx 48 hrs after entering the tube set. Next photo is 48 hrs after the first one..... Root growth is insane.

This is really cool for me because I have been intrigued with aeroponics for awhile and have been really itching to try a tube setup. They are so clean and sanitary, I love em.

Aeration/Oxygenation Liking the sound of some other ideas for increased oxygenation (u'll share hopefully ) and curious about the aeration method involving airstone/diffuser in the rez? On another thread dealing with oxygenation Scroggerman mentioned these Micropore Diffusers that really looked like the shnizz and do a great job . https://www.sunlightsupply.com/p-1236...diffusers.aspx For my aeration pump up till now have been relying on a Japonese Koi Fish pump called "MEDO" with 8 outlet manifold ...really one of the more powerful, hush hush quiet & longest lasting air-pumps out there . Medo is the "Lexus" of airpumps for Koi Ponds ... https://www.medousa.com/en/ * Know in huge NFT opps where they may have a 5000gal tank , they'll oxygenate water using a forced air venturi that sends masses air bubbles swirling in the tank ... to be sent thru a Dosematic Nutrient station then immediately pumped out to the channels . Home Depot Now u have me dying to get down to Home Depot & look for all these components but still need a little more guidance plus seeing how all this works out for you . If anyone is going to make this work , its going to be you MM . cheers ![]() mrose

Just in case anyone ever has the need to aerate 1/4 to 100+ acre pond or lake ,
can go to these guys over at Hydro Logic, to be used up to depths of 35ft ! ![]() https://www.hydrologicproducts.com/ai...xl_series.aspx

Moonshine, just curious, are you using the fence post instead of pvc pipe because it is flat on top, or is it because the diameter of the pipe would be too big in order to fit your cups in. Thanks

Good looking roots. Here are two shots from my aero grow using 3 inch net pots in 5 gal buckets, 360 degree sprayer in each bucket spraying nutrients/h20 at 100psi throught a .050 micron head basically making the mix into a fine fog, it only sprays for 15 seconds every 45 minutes so all moisture is absorbed quickly and it sprays to drain, not back in the res. It cuts down on h20/nutrient cost dramatically.
Here is a mazar at 2 days and again at 7. Moonshine, it sounds like you are running something similar to this https://www.lagreentubes.com/ give it a look see |
