Sounds like the way i used to think before moving here to Maine. In reality i'm still learning to spread my wings. Truth is unless you have more than two and a half ounces on you ,the penalty here is the same as traffic ticket, even if your not medi. It isn't worth thier time. When Montel Williams was here this past summer for medical rally the police chief himself encouraged him to take(smoke) some medicine because he was reeling in pain. Your not guilty for attending any legal event. And its time we recognize that our end justifies the means. By all means be smart and stealthy, but remember to live and breath free as well.

lol.. that Montel thing was a paid performance and planned well in advance, it is becoming his standardized song and dance. It was outgoing sheriff Mark Dion who also happens (just by coincidence) to be a board member of NPG the dispensary folk in Maine.

Other than that, yeah...Maine is pretty laid back about it for the most part.

Maximum up to a year and a thousand dollar fine.(rarely would that come in to play unless u have been a f-tard and piss of the judge). That's the most liberal in country besides some districts in cali. What do need to roll around town with an elbow for anyway. Its not a phish show, it's for the cause.. Legal medical awareness and access for patients who can't afford inflated prices of good quality medicine. The cup part is not the main focus of this event, rather a complimentary aspect of the bigger picture.

Re: Hippo Performance stunts are a part of any public/political proceedings. Doesn't really change the fact things are moving and shaking. People's eye's are being opened on daily basis. That is the point here. Keep it moving forward.

The thing i see moving forward the quickest is more people lining up to participate in Maines greenrush...All at the expense of the patients....We the people have had laws on the books that have [sorta] worked for 10 years, last year the people AGAIN spoke and forced the hands of the legistatior to inact the laws we voted on...Behind closed doors that same group who are suspodedly looking out for us patients, changed the rules on the playing field[from 5 to 10 k just to apply for a dispensary lisence] to allow only a few groups to be a legal part of this new economic engine.Instead of letting local people who are already inplace and have knowledge of how things work, the state goes to bed with a few select people, with heavy outa state ties, and gives away the majoriety of the new economy to them.....Yes this out of state money has help open up the conversation to a wider population, but i really cant see where the botom line of providing medical MJ to patients at a reasonable price is being met.....Not to be a snob but there are enough people within state, local peps who could have implimented a viable plan without having to get into bed with folks from mass and cali[nothing personal or against anyone from away]just saying that our agriculutural programs in Maine are the best in the world......rant over peace out
time to ramble on

Emerald, you pretty much hit the nail on the head there. However first off, i would like to clarify something. The particular event that we are referencing is run by patients for no profit, with no bank roll. In an effort to actually do some good for needy patients, period. That aside U have great merit as far as hopes and desires but in reality politics are dirty, pro-dominatly self indulged circles of people stroking each other just enough to get what they want. It is a little bit nieve to think that money is not at the heart of any state sponsered movement. After all when legalization enthusiasts promote the cause one of they're primary stands is the revenue it can generate. The providers that are running ethical price effective services are few and far between, thus the reason for this event. There are several co ops that are providing medicine to low income patients at they're own cost/expense and should be acknowledged. There is indeed a green rush developing and rightfully so to some extent. Capital drives are exsistence in this modernized world. There is nothing inherently wrong with providing an ethically charged service for some profit. We all need to eat and pay bills. It is a shame that cali and other transplants are dominating and mis- representing our flow and that bothers all of us. Only time will tell exactly how this tangled web that has been woven will play out. At least there are options for us. We have the right to grow are own and seek providers. No system is perfect. There are practically no places in this country period where quality or any medicine is being givin away at low prices. Cali outdoor prices have plumetted but out of over stocked suppliers attempting to line they're pockets. Even are own government has failed to meet peoples needs and provide pharmacuticals to all that need them for prices they can afford. Buisness is unfortuneatley buisness in capitalism. luv is luv, keep smiling!!
