I just built me a new GH at my house...I work for a Collective as a Grower...and do a pretty large GH there--
What we do, is put them out from clone (with a heater at night) by the 1st of Jan-- We use Christmas lights, 1 over each plant...it is enough that they do not flower-- We simply turn them off, when big enough...about April 1st--
Here is a pic from out there--

And here is what I use at my house-- (Before I built the GH)--

Hope this helps-- Any questions...feel free to ask--

Im not brave enough to go out on 1/1 but I am going out on 4/1 in the Costco carport GH. the plan is to veg indoors on 18/6 schedule for march then into the GH, string up cheapo cfl's above each plant in 30g buckets until May 15 on a 15/9 light schedule then straight into the ground for the rest of the year with no lights. check out HumboldtLocals thread or the big plant thread in TomHills forum. Lots of good ideas in them threads for this area. Im just north of the sacto myself....

You are correct for all season grows--
Just to clarify...my system is for a 2 harvest per Season thingy--
Spring and Summer crop--
Depends on what you want--

Just string some lights, to keep them from flowering early.

I have some plants I just started indoors, to place out into my carport greenhouse this spring. I'm in Sacto.

Good luck, welcome to the club

peace

What do you recommend for an average temp during winter Kmk420? Any supplemental lighting or are you strictly using sunlight? I wanted to shoot for two crops, but if you are saying 1/1 I dropped the ball this year.

As long as you are ready to flower on 4-1, you are still good--
Vegging indoor or out doesn't make much difference, except in the electricity Bill!! lol
4-1 start flower
Harvest in June (I let my stuff go as long as possible, I love me some couch lock!! lol)
Last year, we did not start flowering our Summer Crop til Aug...we vegged extra long, and had monsters!!

As far as heat, all we do is set the thermostat at 48F....then just turn it off once temps are consistently above 45F at night-

Sweet I was wondering how you dealt with the cold nights lol.. I really need to understand this particular colloquialism .. ?? .. When you say "couch lock" do you mean sleepy bud? Really curious as to what ppl mean with this term? To me, that means narcotic type bud and I wrong here? peace out Headband707
