Second grow issues
Hey everybody! (in doctor nick voice)
I have three pretty ladies (bagseed) that are about 2 months into veg and I’ve been having some problems. They are in a mix of FF ocean forest and light warrior. The one in the cup just consisting of light warrior and worm castings (about 20%). I have been feeding with PBP grow, CalMag Plus, Liquid Karma, and light doses of kelp, and more recently (yesterday) 5-1-1 fish emulsion. They are under four 40 watt floro tubes. I think I may be having a mag issue, or perhaps N? |

I have been growing for about 20 yrs. From your pic's, i think it can be one of to things. I would 1st see if it is a Magnessium issue, the why I would check for this is to folage spray a couple plants with a mix of 1/2 tsp/litre of water. If this is what is wrong, these plants should start to green up in 3-4 days. If this doen't correct the problem, then my next guess is that it is over fertilizing. The way I would correct this is to, leach each plant with 2X the volume water, to the size of the containers, they are in. Then, after you do this, you must give them some food, so after leaching them, feed them with 1/2 strenght food and also add 1 tsp of mag (epsom salts) per gal of 1/2 strenght food. If this is the problem, you should see improvement in about 2-3 days. I also always add 1 tsp/gal of epsom salt, every time I feed or water, as MJ is a mag' pig.
You should leach our plants every month or two, even if they look good, as this will wash out unused salts, which will burn your plants. I hope this helps. |

Thanks very much for the advice! It's wonderful to have such an experienced grower's thoughts. Do you know if it is possible to foliar feed with Cal-Mag Plus?

hmmm, you say these babies been vegging for 2 months in those little cups?
I'd say you're a damn good grower if you managed to grow them that long in such little containers. Tho I definitely don't want to undermine soulmate's wise opinion, first and foremost get them into much larger pots. New soil's gonna do them good, they won't need anything more to fluorish. rgds, kov |

Yeah, it doesn't seem to say on the bottle. I've got some espi salt around here somewhere..
![]() Yeah, two months. I've been waiting until I get a better light before flowering. Two are in half gallon grow bags and one is in that 16 oz red cup. I'm planning to transplant them into 1 gallon grow bags tomorrow, as I will be replacing the floros with a 400watt MH, followed by a 600watt HPS. I've also been considering how I'm going to deal with the two larger plants size. Perhaps it will possible to top them somehow? I'm not sure how close I can do this to flowering (which will start as soon as possible). Here's the a larger view. Last edited by Youareborg; 01-31-2006 at 05:56 AM.. |

Kov is right. I would 1st leach, them all and then transplant them and feed them but add the epson salt to your food, also.
