Do You Have A Karmic Relationship With Your Plants??

You've heard it before. "Just listen to your plants, man. They'll tell you what they need". After reading it time and time again, it tends to lead one to believe that this is something that only comes to ganja gurus who have had such a spiritual, karmic-like relationship with their plants for decades. While I have no doubt that this relationship does exist to a very palatable level with many growers, it is a very ethereal and difficult thing to discuss and elaborate on. Especially on these boards.

It is my hope that this topic will instigate some POSITVE, yet spirited discussion, where we might be able to get to the bottom of this concept in terms that the average person can relate to. Let's hear about (specifically as possible) what it is and when that you get signs from your plants.

You've seen these unreal shots of Rezdog's grows, Texas Kid's grows, So Quick's grows and so many others here. Their buds always seem so lush and it's because they've become attuned to the plants more than the average growers have. In an effort to pass some of this knowledge along so that others may benefit, please pass along some of YOUR wisdoms. As best you can, try to verbalize this "karmic" relationship that you have with your plants and how they speak to you. Break it down so all can understand it. I know this will be hard to do but let's see if we can't shed some light on this difficult to understand and teach concept.

Althogh this thread is open for any and all to respond to, it would be great to hear from the FINEST of ICMag and others that visit (C'mon Rez and TK, you know I'm talking about you!! ). This thread can go where ever everyone directs it but PLEASE let's keep the flaming and arguments out of this one. Please? Okay, lets go for it!!!

To me being 'in tune' with my garden is simply the by product of the amount of time I spend paying attention to her. That is to say, in the course of learning a new plant or trying different methods or watching a cola ripen, I learn to know my garden on an intimate level. I spend enough time looking across my flower chamber that subtle changes leap out at me. These subtle changes can help you head off problems before they develop. Over time you can get to know the cuttings in your stable so well that this becomes almost second nature, and can even seem like a 'sixth sense.'

Excellent stuff, Mr. G., that's exactly what I'm talking about. Now, many times this karmic relationship extends to knowing when to feed. How do you know when your plants need something and generally how often does this end up being? Just curious actually.

Generally I feed according o the instructions on the fert or nute product, and have to learn over time how this might need to be supplimented or altered for each plant. For example some strains can be magnesium hungry, and others need more nitrogen at the onset of flowering. Once you know how each of your plants reacts, and what each of your plants needs, then it becomes easy to routinely compensate for a common issue. The more often you get to know a new strain, the more you are able to easily identify common issues in new strains you deal with. It's cliche', but practice(practical application) does indeed make perfect.

Hello Everyone.
I feel like my plants are a direct reflection of Karma on how I am living my overall lifestyle. If I am upbeat and feeling good my plants seem to notice and react to the positive vibes. I don't even go into the rooms when I am having a bad day due to chemo or side effects because I don't wan't the babies to know I am down and under the weather. I think they sense it just like a pet or animal does.

I feel that if I plant a bug or a disease in someones life then that very bug/disease will always find a way to return to it's own soil/home. No matter how big or how little it is, the winds of life always bring it back home. I like my soil base to be pure and to have a pure base means to keep both feet planted firmly on the ground. What I put into each grow I will be rewarded 10fold if my heart is in the right place.

Not to offend anyone here but Jesus spoke of a parable about the woman at the offering plate. The High priest and tax payers had all given their usual 10% tithings into the offering plate and were making their usual remarks about how much they had given. This woman walked up to the offering plate and opened her purse and her last denera fell from the bottom into the offering plate. Christ took her in front of the multitudes and told them that she had a higher place in the kingdom of God than all the Priest and Tax Payers. Why? because she gave her last penny and it was from the heart!!!. I think what Jesus was trying to say is that the more we put our love into the things we do in life to help ourselves and our brothers and sisters then the greater our return/rewards will be as long as our heart is in the right place. To me, my plants are a true reflection of my lifestyle and how I treat others. How do I want to be remembered? I would like to leave my mark as a care giving soul who dropped his last denera into the offering plate of life and if it helped even one of my brothers and sisters fight the good fight then I can hold my head up with pride insdead of looking for a cave to hide in.

love to all

I'm not sold completely on your theory of a karmic relationship...but I do know that good people grow good buds, then again rotten people grow good buds too I think it has more to do with your attentiveness and attention to detail. When I tell someone to watch their plants, I mean just that. Visably look at your garden...spend time just sitting with them. Pull each one out of the room and check her over for bugs/defeciencies. After you've done this day after day, you will begin to form a relationship with the plant. It is kind of like getting attatched to a pet or a car...spend enough time with them and you will know them front and back. I do believe that karma has an indirect relationship with everything in life, I am just not certain it has a direct relationship with the health of our plants. Excellent topic for discussion tho

I agree. But I believe it to be more of an indirect relationship, rather than a hands on approach.
