Aldi have wireless remote control alarms with pir sensors in stock, detection range of 10 meters and 109db alarm, they cost 13 euros.
Perfect for those of us who grow in our back gardens, yards, sheds or greenhouses. From Thursday the 9th aldi will also have mini heaters for 17 euros, they look to be thermostatically controlled, help keep the temps up when lights are off. |

Great value at the moment but like last year they will be 4 or 5 euros per bag around April or May.
Some of the hardware chains will be giving good deals on compost n soil amendments soon enough but avoid them if at all possible. They will be all old stock thats been sitting outside since last August, I bought 8 50 liter bags in March last year and never asked how old they were, bloody things were knackered and full of soil flies so they went to the compost heap. Shops such as Lidl/Aldi dont keep old unsold stock in storage, not to mention that the stuff they sell is superior to the likes of Shamrock or John Innes soils. Every one of my Tumbling Tom tomato plants planted in Lidl brand soil last year yielded well over 100 toms, the B&Q brand soil had an average yield of 80 or so toms per plant. |
