For Those of You Who Live in Alaska

Hoooooow fucking lucky are you.

I've always wanted to live there, hate the city.

Did you grow up in Alaska or move there for a job?

What type of industry are you in and does it ever get boring there?

Never been there, certainly must be beautiful beyond belief, but I feel comfortable saying you gonna have to dig the cold if you want to live there.

i know a few here work(ed) the fishing boats. I did a search for other stuff and found a bunch of threads on it.

I know a bunch of people still in Alaska. Most of the socially healthy ones want out or are out. The rest are extended family who spend their free time chasing black bears around with guns, praying to Jesus and defending Sarah Palin.

I lived there for over 5 years. What exactly draws you to it bro? The natural beauty is absolutely incredible, but for myself, the breathtaking views run their course amidst below zero temperatures, constant dark skies, and strangely expensive real estate considering its' remoteness.

lol, no shit, just now I checked the Facebook wall of my buddy in Fairbanks.

"Woo-hoo, supposed to hit -30 tomorrow!"

lol. That shits all you bro...

Agreed lol. Although I'm one of those weird people who got tired of California climate fast and do like the cold. (from east coast originally)

It's def. an extreme environment and not for everyone. I've just grown tired of city life and have always liked that sort of location. Granted I've never lived/been there but I'm positive I could enjoy it for years before I grew tired of it
