E-news no. 13 - December 2010
Merry Christmas to you!
Dear friend, First of all I can finally announce that our new website has been launched this weekend!! It took some sweat and tears, but we are very proud of the results. All ordering can be done through our new website, which is on a secure server as usual and you can keep track of your order status. The new website will also be generating the newsletters from now on. This means that this will be the last newsletter from this mailing list. If you wish to continue receiving our newsletter, please sign on to the new mailing list through our new site here. ![]() The White Widow is on sale and will be for the coming time. BubbleGummer is such a success that she has been taken out of the Xline range and has become a permanent strain available in packs of 4 and 10 seeds. The price per seed remains the same as before. The same will be happening with Pure AK and WW x BB in the new year. The pure C99 is not completely ready yet. However, we have such a nice batch coming up from one of the latest selections, that we would like to offer it at a low price as a C99 hybrid. About 25% of the individuals will be true C99 phenos's, and the other 75% will be a bit spicier, but still very nice. This is the batch that will be ready for release some time this month. As soon as the germination rate is up to 95% or more. You will hear about this one as soon as she is ready to go. The pure C99 will be ready in spring time. OUTDOOR: Female Seeds™ offers outdoor strains specifically bred in the colder climates with a shorter summer period. These strains are semi auto-flowering once matured. This means that they start flowering in low light conditions or from mid-July. Please note that these strains are not to be confused with autoflowering strains. Those are early maturing indica lines. These are late maturing sativa lines. The best sowing time is mid April to mid May. We wouldn't recommend pre-growing them indoors before mid-April, because they are semi-auto-flowering and this would cause them to start flowering in May outdoors. They need the longer days and intensive midsummer sun to keep them in growth. Now available: * Maroc This pure strain is very underestestimated! It has its ancestors in the Ketama-region and was subject to an intense breeding-program, witch resulted in a very resinous outdoor-strain. Flowering starts mid-July in Holland. Buds smell like Ketama, are long and slender with an open structure. Unfortunately it needs the Moroccan climate and soil-type too, to get the pure Ketama taste. But instead of this pure Ketama taste the European version develops an enormous aromatic smell so special that you can’t resist the smell of it – not to mention the smoke! Best sowing time is end of April. Height: 1,5 -2,5m Outdoors Flowering period : 7 weeks Yield : fast! Harvest outdoors : End Aug - September Review: I am a very experienced toker, and my love for Cannabis started on some fine Marrocan Hash,- back then, when there was still really good quality available on the market, and before I started to grow my own, which I have done now for 13 years. On your website you menton that the Maroc would need the climate and soil of the Rif to develop the real Maroc taste. While smoking on some cured bud from the Maroc, I allready noticed the typical "Maroc Taste", but tonight I tried some hash made from excess trim and smaller flowers of my little Maroc(Outdoor, balcony, organic soil) harvest. What should I say? Typicall Maroc through an through,- I´m really excited about this, because I really missed that typical taste. On your website you were more careful with the taste description. But I can only confirm (so far) that the taste is fully pronounced in this "European style version". You really did some great work. This is my honest opinion, and I´m not a greenhorn, I had my bunch of herb allready ![]() * Purple Maroc A cross of Purple Power with a big fat tasty Maroccan mother. While the mother has been selected on weight and taste, she adds power and resin production to the Purple Power. Both strains are super early and the fastest varieties available for outdoor in cold/mountain climates. This with the great taste of the Maroc it's an absolute winner. Some buds will be light purple overloaded with resin. A true eye-candy! Best sowing time is end of April. Height: 2m (when sown mid-May 1,5m) Outdoors Flowering period : 7 weeks Yield : fast! Harvest outdoors : End Aug - September Other strains available soon Yes, the wholy grail C99 is coming along nicely and will be available from spring. Easy Sativa and Outdoor Grapefruit in January. Purple Power has officially been replaced by Purple Maroc For more strain descriptions, please check out the Female Seeds list on our website www.femaleseeds.nl Whishing you a lovely Christmas period! And a prosporous new year! The Female Seeds Team

Hi, i have a question about the Maroc.
Around me people are giving very good feedback about your precedent release, just before it has been out of stock for a while now. According my sources several very fast phenotypes of an outrageous resin producer could be found in a 10 pack. When they say fast, they mean 7 weeks and not one more day. This was grown under the Southern Europe sun. But, as hobby-breeders they didn't forget to keep a lot of clones. During winter, against Female Seeds advice, they didn't resist to flower a large amount of clones indoor. They noticed they semi-auto flowering traits, but not an issue if you light them properly (according them). They did not have any hermies problem so. If you listen to them, this batch of Maroc would have been full of kind of "Grails". They told me a few weeks ago that they would look to the next release, just to compare. I have to mention that i did not see the plants, but i trust these guys for their work on landraces and the fact that they are more "regular seeds fans". Thank you if you're still reading until then ^^ My two questions are: 1: Is this new release the same genetics as the older ones? 2: Were this guys just lucky about indoor growing? - What would be the risk of trying it indoors, hermies or...what? Thank you. Peace |

Thanks for the update!
Im kind of happy the c99 wont be around for a while since I just blew my seed funds for a while. But c99 will make a nice summer indoor crop. I dont know if I missed this but what are the details of this c99 hybrid? Was c99 crossed with something else? |

Hi Guys,
We are sorry you guys feel dissappointed about the Purple Power not coming back this year. But the Purple Maroc is really just as fast as the Purple Power, with more taste and more trichomes. The leaves will turn quite purple too. We never really like the quality of the Purple Power much. But of course, everyone has their own taste. Who knows, maybe next year we'll bring some back. The story of the C99 hybrid will follow soon.
