bananas on sensi hashplant 3 weeks into flowering

I know stress causes this, and I first thought that maybe it was too close to the light but since then the bananas have only become more profuse, do i need to take drastic action and chop her down... I run a perpetual harvest so i have different stages of plants in the same room with the bananad hash plant... i dunno what to do it seems a waste to chop down the plant

Are the nanners viable? i.e. are they actually producing pollen.

I occasional see a nanner on my Royal Hawaiians but they are always waxy with no pollen at all. I don't worry and have no seeds.

Use a pair of tweezers and pluck a nanner from the plant and rub between your fingers. If it leaves a yellowish smudge you've got pollen :(

My eunch nanners look just like others until you look at them very closeup. Then you can tell they are waxy with no pollen on them. Hmm, maybe I can get a shot of one with my microscope.

In my experience the early nanners tend to be pollen droppers more so than the late ones. When I get the infrequent late pod they seem to halt formation about halfway thru but the early ones still have that vegging vigor going so I'll see the result on the topside of a leaf underneath the offending pod.

The late ones tend to develope emerging out from the bud but the early ones tend to develope right at the bottom where the first bud meets the branch. If you have them forming mixed in with the top part of the bud amongst the cluster of hairs then pretty much forget it that plant is going to pod out like crazy.

I think thats the last one I listed then. Where theres nanners forming where the bud is cresting at the tip. Some buds will have that look and not be. If it were my call I would wait until I confirmed the nanner transformation to a verified pod. If the pods are forming there then I would axe he(r). It will produce buds with hermie seeds in many stages, most of them the little small popcorn variety. Sorta fun, till it knocks out an eye.

johnstreet will become famous soon enough
Yeh, I got a few hermies in my Sensi Shiva/Skunk. The two or three male hermies (males with pistil hairs) got chopped and no matter. Two female plants put out some male flowers early in bloom. The flowers were located at the stork only but I removed the two plants .... So from 16 seeds (all germed) got 5 normal females. js.
