Magenta99's ratios?
Just wondering what phenotypes are expressed and at what ratios. 3:1?
I unfortunately just missed the boat on some PCK at seed boutique, so the Magenta has sparked some interest.

Hi Mr. Celsius
![]() Thank you for your interest in Magenta99...the mother of which hails from Ace's well worked, wonderful PCK seed stock. I've known Dubi for years and have the utmost respect for all his work, as I do CBG as well. ![]() Obviously the more seeds started, the greater the chance of getting more colorful pheno expressions from Magenta99's wonderful PCK mom (seeds used in this selection from Ace). There simply has not been enough completed grows from independent growers to attach a specific percentage to...however, based on what I've seen at DGS I'd say about 30%. ![]() The ratio DGS saw with Ace's PCK for the deeply colored pheno was pretty close to 50/50...about half demonstrating the beautiful deep burgundy wine color and about half the 'green' pheno. This I base on merely having enough space to make selections from 12 packs (120 subjects/100% germ rate on the Ace stock If you are after better ratios for getting colorful buds...grab a pack of Ace's PCK....it's been worked much more and longer than Magenta99 which is an f1 hybrid of PCK x DTC99. As we know, an f1 WILL show variance from both parental sides, whereas PCK seems to have two phenos...burgundy and green. My intent was to augment the beautiful colors of the PCK burgundy pheno with the mind soaring potency of DTC99, as well as create a bit larger plant with larger colas from DTC99. The burgundy pheno of PCK is slightly less potent than the green pheno, but makes up for that in it's delightful berry'ish flavors. ![]() So far I'm happy to see that some folks are already getting the colorful Magenta99. Hopefully there will be more independent growers posting up their flowering pics but it's still early seeing how they were just released in Oct. DGS has another round of Magenta99 just going into flower now, to which I'll be better able to attach a percentage based on what I see in my garden coupled with what I see others getting from their grows. In the end....it comes down to if YOU want a pure PCK (of which you need to get from the fine folks at Ace) or if you wish to have a hybrid of PCK (Magenta99) that contains the wonderful thai dominant qualities of her DTC99 father. Here's some pics from a grow thread here in my forum by Hammerhead: These next quoted pics, still in veg, obviously are already demonstrating they are PCK color dom...to me anyway. ![]() Last edited by Dutchgrown; 12-04-2010 at 04:01 AM.. Haha if that doesn't answer your question then what will?!?!
Answers like that are the exact reason I decided to try out some DGS gear

Intense... most detailed answer from a breeder... ever
Well... I suppose I'm interested in both, but Seed Boutique does not seem to be carrying PCK anymore and CBG is all out as well. You think 2 packs of Magenta will show a fair variance and afford a couple different selections? Also, do you plan on taking it further generations to an IBL or leaving Magenta as a hybrid?

![]() I've made no decision I'm willing to disclose yet as to what specific direction Magenta99 will be taken to next. But....staying tuned to my forum for any updates/announcements would be where you'll hear about it first. ![]() Good growing to you! ![]() btw...perhaps Sboo is merely 'out of stock' for PCK. You'd be best served to check with the staff there. Or perhaps Ace/CBG needs to make more? ![]() Thanks for your interest....all the best to you in your search. ![]()
