Gardaí find 2 cannabis factories in Kilkenny

Two men are in custody following the seizure of a large quantity of cannabis in Thomastown, Co Kilkenny, earlier today.

Searches of two houses conducted as part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs led to the discovery of what gardaí said were 'elaborate' cannabis cultivation factories.

The houses at Mooncoin, South Kilkenny, were searched at around midday today.

Gardaí have placed an estimated value of €300,000 on the plants which were at various stages of cultivation.

The men, who are in their thirties and forties, are being held at Thomastown Garda Station under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

Alot of grows being busted recently.

Thankfully in the most cases it seems to be big grows or so called "gang related" and not medical or personal grows. The Gardai it seems are certainly sitting up and taking notice.

What more, as they are already attempting to monitor research chemical sales and online head shops . It is becoming ever more likely that cannabis community forums such as this one are being monitored. STAY SAFE

A specific thread for News articles and Media Reports would be useful..... would keep the forum a lil less cluttered and some off the headlines freak me out.

I second that ! News articles on cannabis are nice to read but its cluttering up the forum page and usually I hear about them on the news. No offense SweetBudz ! A seperate thread would be best imo

Man arrested in cannabis raid

A 31-year-old Lithuanian national was being questioned by gardai yesterday following a raid on a cannabis factory.

A total of 55 herbal plants were seized by gardai who were alerted to the house at Beechwood Avenue, Ballybofey, Co Donegal, because of the high volumes of electricity being used.
