Question on your Magenta

Hi,

I currently have running on my winter indoor setup Lui13, oger99, sweetest c99, and a rez strain. The magenta99 looks great but is more expensive than any other strains i have purchased from you. I am curious on the pictures you have posted describing this strain. Is this picture of the mother rather than the actual f2's of magenta 99? If so do you have any pictures of pure Magenta 99? Have you grown the f2's out and got a female with the magenta color?

My concern is I dont have a lot of room at this time for another strain but if I have a chance at getting a pheno with the purple color I will buy these. But if its not known yet if any of the f2's will actually come out purple I will probably hold off.

Thanks much!

Hi, well....first I must correct your nomenclature. Magenta99 is not an f2. Magenta99 is an F1 hybrid of Pakistan Chitral Kush by original Bros. Grimm DTC99. So these are not f2's. If they were they would have been noted as such.

Magenta99 is currently in flower at DGS...and to answer your question, yes, genetics dictate there will be a degree of purple in some of the progeny. There are also others growing this variety in my forum, although none of the independent grows are far into flower at this time.

I'll be getting some photos up before long. There is adequate inventory of Magenta99...stock will be replenished to SB very soon.

An F1 hybrid will express variance between parental lines.....some leaning heavily toward to mother, some leaning more towards the father, and some with a bit of both (in varying degrees). This is what makes an F1 exciting to grow so that you can find 'your' preferred keeper based on parental dominance.

Good to hear you have several DGS varieties going in your winter grow...perhaps you will be so inclined as to share some photos of these with us all here. When it comes to photos, I prefer to see them from independent growers, such as yourself, rather than everyone rely upon DGS photos. This way, others can see how different plants perform in the hands of many different growers.

Good growing to you! Thank you for your interest.

Sorry I understood it as F1 and most definitely meant F1 but typed F2.

I was checking the stock yesterday and noticed only 14 or so packs left. Thats when the urgency came in. If you say its going to be restocked I will probably hold off and see how the grows go for now only because I dont have the room.

The LUI13 is the only one I have in flower at this time. I will take pictures when she is finished up in about 4 weeks. The others are vegging away but only about 6" tall. I will most definitely update you with pictures on those.

By the way I love how you seem to be a big fan of c99. It has always been one of my favorites which is the reason I have so many of your crosses now.

Hey Kryson! Nice to meet you!

Just curious, what kind of a stretch did you see on your LUI13? I've got a couple of them that are 10 days into flower in my thread, link below.

I have some Magenta99's growing now also. They're in the veg chamber becoming mothers right now, so it will be a while before I flower them.

I am 4 weeks into flower. The LUI13 has not stretched much at all. It is approximately 40" tall right now and maybe grew 5" of those during flower.

On the other hand my rez 4sd more than doubled. It had a crazy stretch period! My LUI13 seems to be more indica dominant. I have noticed that my indica plants dont stretch nearly as much as the sativas.

No worries.

Look forward to seeing how your LUI13 turns out.

Good growing to you!
