Mycorrhizae DWC How does it look?
So my first indoor DWC I got some slime/bacteria that stunted my plants. I moved them to some soil as it's a little more forgiving and will see if they can recover... anyways so I nuked my DWC with h2o2 and physan 20 and have since re brewed rez and..
I inoculated my DWC with the following + blackstrap: (Mix appears charcoal black in color) Beneficial Endo Mycorrhizal fungi species: Glomus intraradices, Glomus mosseae, Glomus aggregatum, Glomus clarum, Glomus deserticola, Glomus etunicatum, Gigaspora margarita, Gigaspora brasilianum, Gigaspora monosporum Beneficial Ecto Mycorrhizal fungi species: Rhizopogon villosullus, Rhizopogon luteolus, Rhizopogon amylopogon, Rhizopogon fulvigleba, Pisolithus tinctorius, Laccaria bicolor, Laccaria laccata, Scleroderma cepa, Scleroderma citrinum, Suillus granulatas, Suillus punctatapies Trichoderma species: Trichoderma harzianum, Trichoderma konigii Beneficial bacteria: Bacillus subtillus, Bacillus licheniformis, Bacillus azotoformans, Bacillus megaterium, Bacillus coagulans, Bacillus pumlis, Bacillus thuringiensis, Bacillus stearothermiphilis, Paenibacillus polymyxa, Paenibacillus durum, Paenibacillus florescence, Paenibacillus gordonae, Azotobacter polymyxa, Azotobacter chroococcum, Sacchromyces cervisiae, Streptomyces griseues, Streptomyces lydicus, Pseudomonas aureofaceans, Deinococcus erythromyxa Here are the seedlings at 6 days from seed. 7 LG Thai x Deepchunk 3 Safari Mix Now last time when it went south the air tubes and inside of the bucket slimed up as well as the bottom of the net pots. This time there is a "slight" foaming, the rockwool cubes are blackish, and the airstones are well... So I'm looking for a more experienced eye to let me know how things are looking. The Ph has been increasing slowly but I'm assuming this is OK with beneficial's? There is no "slime" feeling to the rock wool or tubing/walls and as for the air stones it's my understanding that this is to be expected as they need a "home"? Any questions just ask away! Thanks Sorry for the blurry air stone pic, batteries were dieing and I just got the pic before it ran out of juice.

I did search around, but there doesn't seem to be any picture examples of DWC Mycco beyond someone holding up a giant root ball without a good view of the dwc.

I ran beneficials in my dwc for a few weeks. Everything got too dirty and odd looking, I freaked out and sterilized it. It just seems so much cleaner and easier to tell when something is wrong. With the bene's the roots took on a darker almost root rot look, although I don't think it was. I just couldn't tell if it was working right or not. I also had trouble finding much info on beneficials in dwc, besides for the richyrich slime thread. You've probably read it, but if not go find it.
Have you had any luck with the rockwool in dwc? I would think it would be way too wet. I found even the lava rocks to stay too wet and they would get mold. Hydroton works fine. I'm actually using no medium now, just roots hanging there. |

Ya, richyrich's thread was where I found out about Physan 20. I've seen quite a few rockwool dwc so I think it should be fine, for the moment the water level is below them so they just stay wet from the air bubbles popping. It is "messy" but bene's seem to have worked really well in richy's dwc cloner to keep baddies at bay.
I definitely hear you on the freaking out part, thats why I'm hoping that someone with a few dwc mycco grows under their belt can offer some insight. At this point if I no one can offer real insight I already made some hempy buckets and I'll just put them in those its closer to what I'm used too outdoors... just not the yields.

Don't the bennies need a medium to cling to? There is nothing in DWC for them to attach to so from everything I've heard says that you're better off going Diamond Nectar (fulvic acid) and Hygrozyme (proteins) in DWC because it accomplishes the same goal and doesnt require medium.
Just a though. |

@lastwaltz: The whitish tan "coffee" foam looking shit that floats on the surface is normal for benes. Adding molasses to the rez might cause problems later you might better off brewing an EWC tea with the Mycorrhizae/molasses/etc then adding a fresh tea every week instead of trying to sustain and feed the benes with the molasses. |

Molasses in dwc = root rot
I have even got root rot in soil by adding to much pure mychorizae powder. Too much bacteria in hydro will eat up all the d.o. |
