How can our political process be any more corrupt?
It's all about super rich people using the media to brainwash people. Abraham Lincoln couldn't get elected today. In fact, he couldn't even run. |

i think it is great that soros has helped with 215 and 19 - but he does have other motives
soros is a large shareholder in Monsanto - FYI they are probably positioning themselves for a legalized hemp industry and or medical cannabis play when the laws permit so yes you are correct in that he has motives but at least they are pushing drug reform policy in the right direction but it is crazy to think that he can influence public policy for profit lets be serious - that is exactly what a lot of big business does |

Wrong! 3 pages and nobody has yet made the connection that is VITAL to understanding who is behind prop 19. The devil is in the details, as the saying goes. WELL, George Soros' #1 investment with his billions is MONSANTO. As in terminator genes, GMO crops, that Monsanto. So no, Soros does not give a shit about you or any of us. I check out several growing sites and I am the only one who seems to have read about Soros's connection to Monsanto. I should not even have to say any more, the intelligent ones among us will know instantly that prop 19 is a trojan horse. |

tracking hedge fund portfolios daily Tuesday, March 2, 2010 Soros Fund Management's Portfolio: Adds Citigroup & Monsanto, Dumps Potash (13F Filing) (This post is part of our series on tracking hedge fund portfolios. If you're unfamiliar with tracking investments they disclose via SEC filings, check out our series preface on hedge fund 13F filings.)Next up is hedge fund Soros Fund Management. While many will automatically attribute this fund to George Soros, much of the credit also goes to his son Robert Soros who runs the flagship Quantum Endowment Fund. But for those of you wanting an inside look at George Soros' portfolio, look no further. We follow Soros' portfolio movements due to his macro sense and solid track record. We like to see what sectors he is flocking to and these filings are the perfect example of possible themes his firm might be seeing. Soros Fund Management is a true global macro player as they dabble in pretty much any asset class they desire, so just keep that in mind as the below only details their equity and options holdings. In the past Soros has said one of his main concerns is the deleveraging of the US consumer over a longer period of time which will hurt consumer spending and thus growth going forward. More of Soros' thoughts on the financial markets are detailed in his latest book, The New Paradigm for Financial Markets: The Credit Crisis of 2008 and What It Means. For 2009, Soros' Quantum Endowment Fund was up 28% as noted in our hedge fund performance numbers list. In the past we've also detailed some of their recent portfolio maneuvers. The positions listed below were their long equity, note, and options holdings as of December 31st, 2009 as filed with the SEC. All holdings are common stock unless otherwise denoted. Brand New Positions Citigroup (C) DirecTV (DTV) Select Sector Financials (XLF) Calls Bunge (BG) Kinross Gold (KGC) Autonation (AN) The rest of their new holdings were less than 0.5% of reported assets each: Dollar General (DG), Heinz (HNZ), Orbital Sciences Bonds, Shanda Games (GAME), Hasbro (HAS), CTrip (CTRP), RailAmerica (RA), Sandridge Energy (SD), Energy XXI (EXXI), CVR Energy (CVI), Sina (SINA), Transatlantic (TAT), American Axle (AXL), & China Real Estate Information (CRIC) Increased Positions Select Sector Financials (XLF): Increased by 63,730% (no, not a typo) Pfizer (PFE): Increased by 365% Monsanto (MON): Increased by 244.4% Suncor (SU): Increased by 171% SPDR Gold Trust (GLD): Increased by 152% Emdeon (EM): Increased by 54.6% Plains Exploration (PXP): Increased by 14% Hess (HES): Increased by 11.2% Read more: https://www.marketfolly.com/2010/03/s...#ixzz140m8Dv9D |

Block2TheFuture-Sometimes people can't get the pie in the sky mentality out of their heads to understand that anyone that would put a million dollars into something fully expects to get something back out of it. Soros doesn't put his money anywhere without some sort of pay back.
Am I glad he put it up? Yeah. Do I believe it's an innocent gesture? No way in hell. Hard to be that naive.

There is a large difference in donating money to a cause (koch) and donating to a vast web of hidden businesses and foundations that have only single purposes. ie. electing secretary of states so that close elections can be stolen (think al franken here) and phony green causes that will milk the US taxpayers of trillions (think tide foundation here). Shut up and sit down and learn something. Or smoke a joint legally while and watch as some corrupt person (who pays little to nothing in US taxes due to an intricate web of offshore holdings) ruins this country for generations. Or do you believe we can keep paying retiring firemen (at age 45) 100% of their salary for life? For a simple job that takes about 32 hours a week. Grow up and read something. |

You think fire fighting is "easy money"? I'd like to see a wuss like you do a job like that. That's work for real men and women. you are not up to it. So after a person risk's his life for a career protecting society you want to re-neg on the pension deal agreement we have made with them? You have no class, soul or honor.
