The journals often get overlooked a bit....was a new feature added around a year or so ago. ICM is a big site...so thanks for dropping in here. You should have others dropping into your journal as a result.
By all means....if you wish to post up pics here, or ask for any help, this is the place you can do that as well. I'd highly suggest getting a ppm meter. Is difficult to ascertain what's going on without one.I'll drop in your journal from time to time and see how things are progressing for you.

I posted the same question in my journal, DG, but as you said, they often get overlooked, so I figured I'd ask it here, too... does a ppm meter work for organics? I was always under the impression that they don't, because the nutrients aren't salts in the same way they are with synthetic nutes.... if they do work, I will go out and buy one post haste!

and when you add the myco, all sorts of pH shifts can occur as the microherd and fungi wax and wain within the soil biosphere... so yes,get a meter, any good info you can get about what is going on is always helpful ![]() welcome to the forum by the way! |

FinestKind - Welcome to the site and DG forums. I have been at this site for a while now and I have never looked at a journal. I always follow the forums but never journals. Maybe I will have to start. If I were you I would post your updates in this thread, but maybe you know better. I will go and check out your journal now, and once again, welcome.

Hey, thanks guys... yeah, I wasn't getting a whole lot of attention on my journal, that's for certain... wasn't taking it personally or anything, I just figured that was the case. I think I'll use the journal for my own uses, and post any questions I have here.
unclefishstick... So, you are saying that a ppm meter does work with organics? Now why the hell didn't someone tell me that like a year ago?! All this guesswork...I check my pH periodically throughout my grow... checked earlier this week and I was at 6.0, which set off no alarm bells. That's after feeding with my EJ nutes, which were, if I remember correctly, right at 6.0 as well. (I am using a meter, btw, just happened to be whole numbers for both) I've been following JMan's EJ schedule, except for the hygrozyme, which may be part of my issue. I'm thinking of running out and getting some before my next feeding, but I don't know if I want to throw another variable into the mix right now... what do you think? The other option is to up the Grow a bit more, I was thinking to around 4tsp per gallon, just for the one feeding.... any advice would be great. (BTW, the one I had pictured- the really yellow one- is a bit of an anomaly- some have a few lower leaves starting to yellow, some have none, but that is the only one that is almost entirely yellow- although I am kind of taking it as a "canary in the coal mine.") I will take some more pictures tomorrow, which will be Week 4, Day 1, which is the point, traditionally, where shit starts to unravel for me. :( Bulldog11... Thanks for the welcome! FK |

yup part per million are parts per million no matter what you are measuring.
i really havent ever used the earthjuice products so i cant really comment on what the lack of the hygrozyme may or may not do... |
