Hello Friends,
It's been a very sad New Years for me, I've lost my Father. He passed away on Friday the 30th. The stroke was just too hard on him. Then with the bleeding ulcer and then getting pnemonia. There was just too much damage done. I am so glad I went out to Phoenix when I did, when he could still talk. He was very confused and had lost a lot of his memory but we still had some good talks and I understood what he wanted to do. He told me to go back home to my family. He said he had a plan. He knew he was going to die and I think I did too, I just didn't want to lose him. And he did not want me staying there and watching him deteriate. And so he did not fight. He didn't want to live the rest of his life like that. Who would. But I hated knowing he was going to leave. He was so sweet one of the last days I was out there, I would kiss him on his forehead a lot and he looked at me and smiled and said "Kiss me on my face". So I kissed him on his cheek and I just held him tight. I was very close to my Father even though I hadn't seen him in 9 years. We would call each other and write letters all the time. I loved him so, so much. I am heartbroken knowing I will never hear his voice again. And it is so hard. He was such a talented man, he did woodworking and had made beautiful tables and clocks. He had made a kitchen table and just the top had over a thousand inlaid pieces of wood. He invented the machine that cut the wood pieces for the things he had made. He was also skydiver in the 60's and made over 300 jumps. He was a very free spirited man who loved the desert, the mountains, and the sun shining on his face. I am going to miss so much. I hope everyone had and has a wonderful and properous 2006. And I thank you all for your caring and concern over the last month. It has really meant a lot to me. LadyOlive My Father

Very sorry for your loss. I'm glad you got time to spend with him in the end. I'm sure your father is in a better place and watching over you and the family. I know its hard, but try to be strong. It's always so very hard when you loose a close family member. You take care and be strong.

Very sorry to hear LO. Not to sound insensitive, but I believe it was for the best. I did not know your father, but from what you have said it sounds like a free spirit like his is better off without a body of such physical constraints. After the stroke of course. Wishing the best for you and yours in the coming year, with a new guardian angel to bless you.

As all the others have so graciously stated, I am truly sorry for you loss. Having lost both of my parents I know how you must feel right now, Lady O. Such a blessing you were given to be able to spend such precious time with your Dad before his demise. These memories will carry you through the rest of your life until you meet him again in a far better place than this. And so the "Circle of Life" carries on as it does for us all.

Lady Olive, My heart goes out to you in your time of need.
Having lost my father back in 1982, I am here to tell you that the pain never really goes away. Now My mother, whom I am taking care of is in the last years of her life ( I will not put her in a nursing home) and I am bracing myself to go through that pain all over again. Please accept my heart felt condolences in your time of need. May God's peace come over you. Peace, Dankdude. |

I am very sorry for your lost...it is a very sad occassion, indeed...you are very lucky that you had the opportunity to spend some time with him before his passing...cherish your memories... and hold on to the thought that he is in a better place and your will be with him again.
Peace my friend. |
