Irish food
I was talking to a Scottish friend who was going on about the appalling Scottish food from His youth (deep fried pizza etc.)
In my youth in Belfast we had "dipped Soda" - deep fried soda bread and the horror that is "vegetable roll" (Ulster roll to any Scots reading this) - it's not vegetarian - it is the cheapest crappiest pork sausage meat mixed with god knows what in a rectangular loaf - fried of course. Anyone else care to mention examples of shite Irish food from the past? Dr. LD

the classic deep fat fried mar bars was always a favorite
the tastiest but also nastiest in hindsite stuff was probably billy meat, compressed and colored mystery meats sliced up paper thin an honorable mention to curry chips, the greasiest chips rolled in curry powder = heaven |

Fried bread......
This is where you dip a few slices of bread in the fat left over after cooking the reashers, sausages ect. then grill or pan fry the bread until crispy.. Oh and Campbells meatballs.....god knows what was in those things. |

I generally dislike traditional irish food. Or famine food as I like to call it...
Stew? Coddle? What the hell is that stuff? Throw anything you can get your hands on and boil it up? ew.. No thanks. I'll take lasagna or roast duck any day! |
