Unknown but killer bud
A friend had some really sweet and smooth bud a couple months ago and I got a few seeds from him to try out.
So I started 5 of the seeds and set the fluorescent lights for 24/7. At 3 weeks after germination they began to flower. I was shocked to see them start to flower so soon, especially under 24 hr light. The stems were only a little bigger than a toothpick. I took a clone from the healthiest/strongest of them. It immediately took and in 2 weeks both the mother and clone were again flowering. I took a clone from the daughter since the original was really beginning to flower. Above are pictures of the 3 generations. Of the original 5 starts 1 was male so I separated it and 1 female to seed. None of the plants ever grew over 20 inches tall and all of them produced close to 2 oz. of really sweet and smooth rock hard bud. The buds are really hard, the taste is sweet but kind of earthy and it smells sort of spicy like cinnamon or cloves when smoked. I would really like to know what the original strain is so I can grow it exclusively from an unadulterated seed. Does anybody have any ideas? |

i would guess that it is an autoflowering strain due to the fact that it started flowering about three weeks from germination and under 24 hours light and i dont know what the strain is but doesnt look so good to me,you should have started this grow a little better prepared with some hq soil and lightning and it would look a little better then now,you should get only a few grams of each of that plant so i am not really amazed by that genetics bro!but if you think it is good just go with it no problem...peace!

Yeah it seems the plant took on genetic Predisposition to its normal genetic clock. Ive seen this happen from seeds that were from pollinated Re-veged mother plants.

Thanks for your replies people.
I have done some more leg work in tracking down the guy who grew it. It turns out that it is a cross of a Ruderalis and another strain which he wouldn't tell me. He said that has been working on a perfect stealth strain. After learning that it is partly Ruderalis I have been reading more about it and now I'm thinking I might check out some of the other strains like Mighty Mite, Low rider 2 or even the 60 Day Wonder. I live in Washington state and we can have 15 plants and 24 oz. under the mmj laws, so I figure that if I can harvest 15 plants every 60 days it might keep up with my usage. Plus these lil things are perfect for a noob grower like myself with limited space... They are sort of like "plug and play", I just plug em in and give em food and water and they do the rest automatically... No timers or other gadgets to worry about failing or wearing out. So I got a good batch of seeds and made another cool friend who knows his chit. My next crop should look much nicer. |

Don't try to clone autoflowering since they can't be kept in veg nor try HST since it will stun the growth giving less yield.
You want to stress AF strains as little as possible because they will flower at age rather than photoperiods thus trying make it as big as possible while it's vegging. |

you can clone them but its pointless cause it will flower as did his clone....

Just to clarify a couple of things.
AF's CAN be cloned. I have been doing it with 100% success for months. The only trick is to top and cut clones before they begin flowering heavily. I top the clones at the 3rd or 4th node at 2 weeks. Of course they grow 2 tops after this. By 3 weeks they have 2 nice tops and several limbs. So I take as many of the limbs as possible for clones. Half strength nutes as usual and all the same ole process for clones. I like the taller clear cups w/ a domed lid for obvious reasons. 2 weeks later I repeat the process with all of the newly rooted clones. I can repeat this indefinitely and have more clones than I know what to do with. Below is a picture of a 2 week old clone before and after I topped it. I will post another picture in a week and show the progress. Hopefully I will also be able to post pictures of the next batch in the flower room. 2 week after clone is rooted. |

Amigo growing is just like cooking, you only get better as you practice.
