What cannabis can we grow legally in Finland?

Quote spurr:
Yea that is the old taxonomy from Carl Linnaeus from over a hundred years ago, and it's not considered correct anymore. That is what I wrote about in my big post. Right now, current genetic evidence shows at least 3 species with both drug bio-types, what we know as indica and sativa are both under C.indica. What we know as indica is C.indica Afghanica and we know as sativa is C.indica indica. Ruderlias is under both C.sativa and C.ruderalis.

The reason I prefer using WLDB (wide leaflet drug bio-type) for indica (e.g. C.indica Afghanica) and NLDB (narrow leaflet drug bio-type) for sativa (e.g. C.indica indica) is it avoids confusion of the incorrect terms we use (indica like NL#5 and sativa like Haze) with cannabis taxonomy.

The use of C.sativa L. (aka C.sativa subsp.) is no longer considered correct.

Here is a short quote from my big post:

"However, current analytical (e.g. DNA and RNA) studies, thanks in large part to the work of Karl W. Hillig [1][2] provide strong evidence to at least 3 species. Of which both drug bio-types (what we know as indica and sativa) fall under C.indica and non-drug bio-types fall under C.sativa and C.ruderalis. I for one use the work taxonomic of Karl W. Hillig, thus I like to call sativa drug bio-types "narrow leaflet drug bio-types" (aka "C.indica indica") and indica "wide leaflet drug bio-types" (aka "C.indica Afghanica")."
End quote.

As far as I know we are not allowed to produce Cannabis Sativa in this country, exept for reasons other then drug production and even this causes trouble for the law when small amounts of thc are beeing found in fiber, oil, or edible seed producing plants that are by substance name outlawed under some narcotics act..

But now it looks that names have changed.

Cannabis Sativa aparently is no longer, so does this mean that our laws should be rewritten?

According to the new namings, we would only not be allowed to grow some type of ruderalis(cannabis sativa) now.

The law doesn't mention "cannabis sativa" it mentions "hemp":

Quote:
Eräiden kasvien ja sienien viljelykielto

Kat-kasvin (Catha edulis), Psilosybe-sienien ja kokapensaan viljely on kielletty.

Oopiumiunikon, hampun ja meskaliinia sisältävien kaktuskasvien viljely käytettäväksi huumausaineena taikka huumausaineen valmistuksessa tai tuotannossa on kielletty.
It says growing hemp to be used as a drug is forbidden. If you can convince the court that you were growing for some kind of other reason you can grow whatever high THC strain you want, but so far nobody who has been busted with high THC strains has been able to do that as far as I know. If the strain isn't a drug variety but something with low or even negligible THC amounts convincing the court should be quite easy though. So; in practice you can legally grow cannabis varieties that don't have a lot of THC.

Ok I see Love? thanks for clearing this up.

The English version of the Finnish lawbook that I found online clearly stated Cannabis Sativa tho, so could be wrongly translated then, Hmm, Can be it was in some Narcotics act from 2001 or so if I remember right.

If that is true, then why do Timo Haara and the owner of Finola have so much legal trouble with their low THC grow ops?

If your not a farmer growing on a EU subsidary you are pretty much screwed, the Finnish cops won´t be doing gene testing on weed any time soon

Finland allows medical use but the docs I´ve talked to know absolutely nothing about the use. I tried to get a perscription but I had no luck, they´ve all been friendly and not at all negative but they say they don´t know enough to recommend it. So for the time being we are outlaws.

For that matter it seems things are still more retarded in here as elsewhere indeed Piel.

I'm still not able to read Finnish that well, but every once a while bits and snaps arrive at my place that show progress is happening somehow, but I'm always the last one to get detaills unfortunatly.

There are some good things about this country too tho. Validations are merely made up on a personal basis, from there on it's up to the determination of the patient to get where he wants to.
Everything is still open in this country it seems, and where law is concerned it's just a bunch of bullying cops that "show us the way" even though at court level much is still to be challenged.
Open floor in here still, waiting for great oportunitys to break through imo.
Love this country

Does anybody have any info about reformation of narcotics laws (huumausaine lainsäädännön muutos). Media has been very quietly about that? It should be happening this autumn.
I really hope it's a step towards better what comes to cannabis.

Reading between the lines, Haara was using a hybrid crop, a blend of finola and some thc producing strain.

A tip: Have 3 or 4 big hemp plants in your grow, they usually only test the biggest ones and in this case they'd show high cbd, low thc.
Thule is online now Quote
