Open question: Is it safe to run a sulfur burner while a LP pilot light is present
Open question: Is it safe to run a sulfur burner while a LP pilot light (CO2 Generator) is present? if so (which I am assuming) what is the best method?
I installed a Green Air Products CD-36 LP 2 weeks ago and haven't ran my Sulfur vaporizer since...is it safe to just set my vaporizer back up and run it while the pilot light is lit in the burner? |

i guess u should direct that question to the sulfur vap. manufacturer as i dont know of hand about the burnrateof sulfur vapor at (?%) concentration.
how long does the vapor treatment take? is it a cycle process that repeats?? if its a relatively short process then why chance it? if u are a brave soul u could light a lighter near the vaporizor and see if u get the "micheal jackson hairdo" LOL good luck, and direct that GOOD question to the manufacturer and get a reliable answer! BUZZ!

well up until the burner I was running the vaporizer twice a week for 30 min at a time...it was working great for me and fall is coming so I don't want to run into the PM issues so I'd like to get it vaping again...

it should be fine... I run mine with my boiler pilot on all the time.
The way I see it is theres a hot coil burner under the sulfer bucket...how could a pilot be any worse?

Now if the pilot light were to some how be blown out, and the gas was to continue flowing out the pilot hole and filled the room, That gas could possibly ignite. Gas furnaces and gas hot water tanks have about the same risk of such an accident as the co2 gen does. Just be sure you dont have no heavy air movement near your generators vents and there should be no risk of the pilot going out unless it's out of propane.
