MBS test grow .......
Kindly given a while ago , everything over ran and finally have the space.
As others have found , the shells are a bit tougth and will benefit from some help , only managed four from ten and will do better with the second batch. Once they broke soil they move pretty fast , two tall ones just showed as female under 20/4 cycle , just topped as i really want a clone and not willing to risk mid flower sideshoots on plants that smell this good already. Size is a reflection of variable germination time more than expression , all show similar cute leaf deformities and have a distinctive look amongst many others , very long fan stems another visible trait , girls are hollow stemmed and very square in section. Information on the Antipodes cross starts at post 77

Hi m8, great to see you here. Don has nothing but great things to say about your growing and evaluation/testing skills and from what i have seen so do i.
I am still yet to puff the mbs myself, have a small test a few weeks away, but thus far i am very very happy, more yield on some expressions than i thought would be aswell. Cant wait to see how they go for you and your thoughts on the line m8, again good to see you here and ty for taking the time and space to test these out for us. much respect moonunit |

Thanks for the kind words , its a pleasure to try something different and this is looking to be good.
Clone showing good roots after five days in the bubbler , this is impressive and a record for this cutting type in plain rain water. |

The two topped girls have recovered well and clones are safely rooted , left them in flower so will yield a bit low but a lot sooner.

Hey foomar ,, nice to see youve gotten some room to run them ,
as moon mentioned i look foward to your usual decisive descriptions .. have you noticed any odour to them as yet?? Reflecting a little on a previous grow ,, i notice many think the sky is going to fall in with crosses folks may use to feminised seeds , the blackberry , c99 cross you grew was one of them ,, and i noticed the sky didnt fall down , hehehehe .. thanks muchly for your input foomar ... |

Hi Donald , one has a faint generic skunk odour and one is almost diesel and smells quite strong.
The Blackberry cross gave three wonderfull distinct expressions that have been rock solid stable under varied conditions and have also been free of intersex in a dozen of my own crosses. Have a casey x NYCD from Kinderfeld which was femmed and still a keeper , no problems here or with its crosses , not all femmed are bad but i test them hard for stability before passing out clones or working with them. |

Filling out and starting to form buds despite being topped at the worst time , good test of stability however.
This one has shown as male at nine nodes after a few days 12/12 , similar in vigour to the first two girls , will be topped and cloned and tested out. This is the last of the first batch , unsexed at eight nodes and less than a foot high under identical conditions it seems to be another more compact expression of the first one with a diesel smell , could be more manageable for tight spaces. |

Very visible changes daily in the buds , leaves remain distinctive and the plants obvious in a room full of everything.
Last of the four looks to be a male now , much shorter internode than the first one and an almost diesel odour , must be cloned. |

Hi m8, looking very nice thusfar. I am just finishing up a small test batch and i must say i am very very happy. I stressed the heck out em and only got a couple of very very late nannas on a couple of plants. Stresses included dark period interuptions, heat and light intensity. Lots of variablity on specific traits, as per design i like to add variabilty to the traits that encompas what i would call personal taste, whilst providing stabilty in other traits i deem essential to the line. That way everyones tastes are covered and the line remains distinct.
The diesel smelling ones are the zoid coming through. I would call the sour aroma ( it has a sweet and sour trait in the line, depending on what gen you look in, but the sour is the dominent one) of the zoid sort of a combination of fuel, mint and vegemite lol. Very weird smell but so nice. I have a female mbs zoid expression a few weeks away, as its the longest flowering expression of the mbs i have seen thusfar. I am very eager to smoke it though as it looks and smells like a 50/50 indy sat hybrid zoidfuel with a hint of fruit, i think this one will be a winner for sure. Alot of affie gym socks kind of intermeadiate expressions will pop up, but they are dam nice aswell. Im yet to see a bad phenotype that i wouldnt want to puff and have already found some exceptional phenotypical expressions. The yield and vigor are abit more than i expected once flowering on the mbs aswell, so another bonus ![]() Anyways m8 looking very very nice, cant wait to see em flowered out and to hear your opinion on the puff. much respect moonunit |
