My C99xDeepChunk w/ harvest pics

Hey guys, my C99xDC got the chop awhile ago, so I thought I'd throw up some pics in this forum to help show some love to the guys at Cannacopia.

I grow my ladies in a small cab, with a 150w HPS, in 1 gallon DWC pots. I grow a number of strains at once, in a perpetual style, but with the differences in flowering times, Im not always getting harvests on a set schedule. Its an interesting set up, maybe even you large scale guys would be a little interested, and if so, feel free to drop by my grow thread

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=124360

Heres a pic from later in flowering:

And heres a portion of my harvest:

A little review: I did have some problems with germing and weak seedlings. I dont want to knock on Cannacopia, but I feel like I have to mention it. I did find a beautiful mother in my pack though, and these are the results.

She grew fast and strong, way taller than I had planned. Her branches grew long with a golf ball or larger buds on each end, and in the last 2 weeks of flowering they got hard as rocks. There was very little popcorn buds to speak of, with nearly every bud growing big and beautiful. Lots of trich coverage, and a little purple coming through. She flowered quickly, and yeilded 1 and a half mason jars of nice buds (sorry, no scales in my house)

The smell through flowering is sweet, skunky, and a little rubbery, with deep, dark undertones. After cure, the smell is musky, still a little sweet, and honestly a little like garlic. These things stink up a room real quick every time I open the jar.

I have never tried either of this strains parents, but reading descriptions of the parents, I think the taste is a great representation of both. A slightly sweet, fruity, dry and hashy inhale, with a very deep, hashy exhale. My repeated use of "dark" and "deep" scents and flavors I assume come from the Deep Chunk genes; its not quite chocolatey or coffee-like, but I think the scents and flavors are along the same lines. The flavor is very pleasant and enjoyable, and easily the best tasting buds I have grown thus far.

The high has taken some getting use to. I usually smoke around 2 bong or bowl pack a session to get where I like to be. With this C99xDC, if I smoke even a whole bowl pack, Im done for. Its very narcotic, and makes my eyes weight a ton. This was not the high I was looking for. But I have found that if I can keep myself taking single hits at a time from the bong, I can get a high that I like alot more.

I'll probably keep this thread open and post pics of future harvests of this strain. Im getting a cheap macro lens in the mail, and I'll probably go photo crazy when it gets here.

Theres not alot of info on this strain here on ICmag, so I hope this helps some of you guys out.

Dimebag, your buds look alot better than mine. Even my unseeded clone I just harvested doesn't have dense buds. Im curious as to what your temps were in your flowering chamber?

Ive battled with temps all summer, and the best I could get in my tent usually was mid 80's. Sometimes in the 90's on the really hot days. This heat wave has been a real killer, and Ive even got a window mounted AC. Im so looking forward to fall & winter.

Ill be running some more clones of my ladies sometime soon when I change locations, and I think I should manage temps in the mid 70's. Hopefully my buds end up dense like yours instead of loose/fluffy.

I you think they are gonna be loose and fluffy try hitting them with gravity in the last three weeks. It worked wonders for me.

Thanks Dave, my temps also stay in the mid 80s, mostly due to the fact that my cab is so small. I dont think they ever reach into the 90s though, so maybe thats the main variable?

I will say though, my pheno is much more of a night time strain. I was hoping to have the opposite, a pheno more leaning to the C99, but hey, thats the luck of the draw.

But I agree that you should give her another run or two when the cooler months come around. Thanks for stopping by, I'll be keeping an eye on your thread as well.

awsome job & very nice pix.....when i grew the lapis mnt indica i had a deepchunk dominant pheno that smelled exactly like skunky onions & others with the deep rich tones of coffee, chocolate & afghan hash definatley a deepchunk trait. maybe next time you can harvest a little earlier to get more of a sativa high then a eye drooper....i filled a 1 pint mason jar of dc x calio & it weighed out to about 16 grams so if your using the same size jars maybe yours is in the 1 1/2 - 2 oz range as a whole im guessing.THANX FOR SHARING!

Skunky onions, hah, thats awesome! I cant believe someone else has noticed such a dank smell, that sounds just like this stuff. I do think I'll try to harvest a few days earlier this time, although I chopped with probably less than 10% amber, I usually try to chop sooner rather than later. She sped up so much during the last 3 weeks of flowering I couldnt keep up with her, and I didnt start flushing early enough.

Im using quart jars, but Id say 1.5-2ozs sounds about right.
