Wish me Luck
A few of you may or may not know that a few months ago I was involved in a motorbike crash.....Anyway long story short broke me legs and completely shattered my wrist. 10 weeks down the line or so and my legs are fine, but its my wrist thats giving me hell, two weeks ago had a check up, and if any of you have worn a cast, you'll know the relief at the poxy thing coming off. Only to find out that my wrist hasnt even nearly begun to heal and worse still I couldnt move it at all for the pain. So on went the 5th cast since the accident and another 2 week wait. Im back in tomorrow and even as I type this I can feel it hasnt got any better so now im worried about what happens.
Enough of the rambling from me, wish me luck I think tomorrow i'll be needing it. Peace Baffled |

Baffled, sorry to hear that. I broke my wrist in a motorcycle accident about 25 years ago (the carpal narvicular in my wrist). That bone has about a 20% rate of failure to heal and I was one of the 1-in-5 who had to have surgery for a bone graft.
Luckily, your doctor is on top of it and knows it isn't healing. In my case, the doctor told me it was fine when the cast came off and I had a broken wrist for three years before the fracture finally showed up on an X-ray. I still don't have full range of movement in that hand and I have pretty bad carpal tunnel syndrome now. Hang in there! I know what a pain casts are. Not only went through the cast thing when I first broke it, but had to have a cast on again after the bone graft. Oh, and I was a secretary at the time - one handed typing was a pain in the rear! |

Thansk all for the kind thoughts and words,
1toke I was in the middle of this grow when it first happened, sadly they perished while I was initially staying in hospital Luckily I have some of a previous grow rationed away somewhere. Mrs. G thanks, hopefully when my snapping hand is ready ill make some pics as nice as yours, you always make pretty pics. Indigo, yeah ive been told there was a chance it probably wont ever heal 100% which is daunting, cos i play guitar and am quite sporty so that will have to go on hold now. I'd like to follow your advice on the heavy lifting thing, but im an under taker by trade in a family business, so 100% of my job revolves around heavy lifting. On the upside I get abreak from work, but my Mum is going mad about that, seeings as she is now a man short hehe. Ambre 3 years, ouch and I thought my docs were clueless, hopefully tomorrow they give me a bit more info rather than just staring at the xrays humming and harring. They really have that down to a T. Luckily here in the Uk treatment is free so thats not a worry. Thanks again y'all, I'll let you know what they say tomorrow Peace Baffled |

hey bm, i had a really nasty break like that as well, basically whats happened is the muscles got weak and you gotta get em strong again, get a rubber stress ball to squeeze. I had to do that and learn how to use my hand again. i still have pains and this was years ago. happens when it first goes cold outdoors. get better soon m8, and keep blazing, it seems to help ;>

Well good new of sorts, been put back in a cast for another 2 weeks. All the bones appear to have healed at last, apart from one that seems to be taking its time. When it came off seemed to be able to move it a bit more than last time although it was still quite painful. Doctor said should be able to move it much better once the swelling goes down, guess i'll just have to wait to find that out. But there doesnt appear to be any long term damage, which is what I was worried about, cos that would have meant an op and my hospital has the worst MRSA record in the country so I didnt fancy that lol.
Thanks again everyone for the well wishes, I feel priveleged to be part of such a caring community. Peace Baffled |

Just as I start to mend after my crash, it was with great sorrow that I just found out my cousin was killed earlier today in a similiar crash in Spain, she was only 17 and had so much love and life ahead of her. This is going to be an incredibly hard time for her family and mine over this holiday period. Please fellow memebers say a little prayer tonight for her beautiful soul. Miss you already Summer
