The C99 side
Hi DG,
So I was trimming some Brainfreeze, SweetC99 and Glass Slipper tonight and Every plant that expresses the C99 side is truly outstanding! Just supper sticky and sweet smelling. I can pick them out right away because they are done a lot faster than the rest. It really amazes me...

I love C99! DG's mixes are OUTSTANDING!
I was trying to articulate the words to describe exactly how is smells but it's impossible. It's a complex mix of fruit and candy...wonderful. What the C99 brings to the party is what I want, fast, big yield, great taste and smell, and sticky! I've grown a lot of weed and the C99 DG has used to breed is top world class stuff! C99 used to be pretty hard to find and I think there are a lot of people out there that claim to have the real deal but are really selling shit. DG's IS the real deal C99! It also amazes me how strong of an influence it has genetically on these mixes. The C99 pheno is almost exactly the same in each of the mixes.

Justa....it pleases me to no end that you are so happy with your seeds and what they produce for you in your garden.
![]() Maybe an analogy...although I'll admit, not the best...but close....would be something like this....if you are baking a cake, you can elect to use vanilla flavoring, or, vanilla extract (much purer and stronger). Using similar amounts, which one do you think would influence the cake's taste and aroma the most? Selecting P1 stock as well as certain combinations if you notice in my little analogy, selection of the specific brand of extract is only part of the point I'm trying to make but intentionally left this out so as not to sound condescending to any other breeder in the choices they make, so what I have attempted to do here with this vague analogy is like I was taught in formal education literature classes....'write for the reader'....so rather than lose many of you in the complexity of the science of it all, I tend to post in a more laid back...basic common sense....logical thought deduction process, written for any lay person of genetics to easily understand without talking over anyone's head. This is NOT to say an assumption is made on my part that everyone posting in my forum is some sort of uneducated dummy lacking knowledge...just that the science of breeding is a very complex one that not every grower is interested in, nor has the educational foundation in areas of Botany and Horticultural Sciences to follow easily...so writing for the reader is my choice. Plus....there are some secrets to my breeding that I simply do not wish to share. ![]() ![]() DG |

DG, I would love, LOVE to have a breeding thread that discussed the technical scientific issues of breeding or individual strains. One of the thing i find lacking on ICM is true scientific discussions. Not that there aren't deep threads that get into technical talk i just find overall it lacking around here.....

By the way, I have noticed with my clones probably due to the genetic maturity, not a increase in the flowering cycle but a tremendous increase in size if vegged over 24 inches or so. The combination of a longer veg time creates MONSTERS. I move clones from a small pot to a 5 gallon bucket and throw them into 12/12 the same day. Compared to other strains the Glass Slipper and SwC99 really take off! Its almost a problem - lol - Anything smaller and I get a normal sized plant. There is some trigger point that puts them over the top and accelerates the growth process 5 fold. Because they both share the same C99 background i'm assuming it's from those genes. What i find interesting is they grow tall not wide, and if i take two clones - the one with the shorter veg time will grow wide like a bush while the other will rocket up like an xmas tree.
