RIP Richard Pryor
Died today of a heart attack. The man was a genius, would not bow to censorship, walked his own road. Grew up listening to his albums and 8-tracks ( yeah I had them ) behind closed doors cause the folks didn't like ya listening to " that filthy mouthed drug addict ".....RIP Richard, I know you are in a better plane of existance..................... ............

A Great Man and Artist He was !
More Humble towards the end as we all should be. I Dont Believe we are judged for things like our Mistakes in Life. As Long As You Dont Kill or Steal and Are not Greedy , And You wish better for your Fellow Man, we will all who desire to, meet again. Richard Pryor RIP |

Richard Pryor was a comedy role model that I also grew up listening to on 8-tracks(hello MD
). There will never be another comedian like him. He blazed a trail and broke all the boundries for comedy and humor and he did it simply by being his own self. His humor was a daily part of my life and I will never forget him. His humor will always be etched in my heart & soul. Rest in peace Mr.Pryor you will be greatly missed.

To a very large degree, we tokers owe a lot to Richard Pryor. It was his humor in dealing with getting high that "eased" attitudes in the late 70's and early 80's. He made it "en vogue" to be a pothead. As many have stated here already, I grew up listening to his albums and tapes. Othen than MAYBE Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock (both of whom credit Richard for being there mentor), Richard Pryor is still the funniest black man out there!
"Mudbone" is still my favorite! "I drove six hundred and fourty seven miles from Tupelo, MS all the way to Chicago, IL on a tractor"!! Man, that was some funny shit!!

I liked his movie "Some kind of Hero" when his captor had him sign his name. He signed it "Meoff" and said his first name was Jack. Now that's some funny shit. "Mudbone" was a very funny character.
Mountaindew, I love your avatar.
